we didn't expect the storm waiting.

And yeah, the words she said-

Mom's Pov

"What is this, huh?"
"You took her all the way there-
without even telling us?"
"You trying to pull her away from her
own family?"

Jay Jay's Pov
Then Aunt Jemma joined in too.
Said things like:
"Are you trying to mess with my niece?"

And again mom ;
"You and your dad... both the same."
"Selfish."

I looked at Keifer.
He didn't even talk back.
He just stood there.
Quiet.

I knew it hurt him.
But I also knew the truth.

But I wasn't gonna let him feel alone in
this.
Not after everything he did for me.

I didn't speak.
Not even those words hit me
Like knives.

I just stood there
Took it.

They weren't wrong...

Her voice Brave.

"Keifer took me because I wanted to go.

My chest, it cracked open.

She didn't even hesitate.
Didn't care if it made things worse for her.

She just... stood with me.

And no one's ever done that

Keifer's Pov (present)

The ocean was quiet.
Not like the city

Jay sat beside me, knees pulled
up, hair dancing in the wind.
She didn't say anything.
She didn't have to.

I was still hearing her voice though...
"Keifer is not like his papa, not even
once.
Don't call him like that."

I wanted to say thank you.
But I couldn't.
So I just... looked at her.
And in that second, she looked back.

That silence?
It meant everything.🕊️
