Taehyung

Jinwoo fired first.

The shot missed by inches, grazing Taehyung’s cheek and shredding bark from the tree behind him. Taehyung didn’t flinch—just pivoted low, fired twice, rolled behind cover.

You’re slower than you used to be,” Jinwoo called out.

Taehyung wiped the blood off his cheek and spat. “Still fast enough to kill you.”

Branches snapped. Movement.

Taehyung shifted, eyes sharp, breath steady.
No emotion now. Just instinct.

He remembered when they used to spar in training camps in Seoul, wrists bloody from practicing too long. Jinwoo used to cover for him. Patch him up.

Now he was trying to kill him.

---

Jinwoo moved through the brush like he owned it. Silent. Methodical. Predictable.

And that’s what made him dangerous.

Taehyung lunged before he could overthink.

They collided mid-charge—hands grappling, knives flashing. Jinwoo’s blade sliced across Taehyung’s side, but he kept going, slammed a fist into Jinwoo’s jaw.

You threw it all away,” Jinwoo growled.

No,” Taehyung hissed.

They both stumbled back, panting, bleeding, hands still raised.

This wasn’t a mission anymore.

This was a reckoning.

Y/N

The man who stepped out of the woods wasn’t Taehyung.

He was younger, thinner, dressed in all black with a headset tucked beneath his hood. He moved too quickly, too confidently.

Y/N clutched the suitcase tighter and backed away.

Whoa,” he said, lifting his hands like he was calming a child. “Don’t run.”

She did anyway.

He grabbed her.

She screamed, elbowed him in the ribs, but he caught her wrist and yanked her down hard.

Her knee slammed into the ground. The suitcase hit the dirt.

He grabbed it—she lunged for it—
Her fingers wrapped around the handle at the same time as his.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” he said. “But I will.”

She looked up into his eyes.

And saw no hesitation.

Just training.

And then—

She did the only thing she could.

She bit him.

Hard.

He howled and pulled back.

She grabbed the suitcase.

Ran.

But he tackled her down again, shoving her into the leaves.

And that’s when she reached into the side pouch of the suitcase—

And pulled out the emergency flashbang.

Taehyung said never to touch it.
She didn’t care.

She yanked the pin and threw it blindly.
