《 Chapter 10: An Upcoming Threat 》

"Well, when you said duck doctor, it really got to me." Eclipse chuckled.

"Eclipse, be serious about this. Zero just said that the whole Metal Sonic thing was just the beginning, and something a lot more worse is coming this way." Gwen said sternly to Eclipse.

"Sorry. It's just hard to believe that, but it does sound concerning." Eclipse said.

"Well, I recommend we find Eggman's lair and investigate it and stop it before it happens." Zero suggested.

"Zero's right. As soon as we make land, we go there." Gwen nodded.

"What about Sonic and the Resistance?" Eclipse questioned.

"I'll just tell them that we just need to take a look around the place. They can't know just yet until we know for sure what kind of threat we are really dealing with." Gwen shook her head.

"Good idea." Zero nodded in agreement.

"Then it's settled then." Eclipse declared.

Gwen looked back as they left Angel Island, secretly hoping that everything will be okay...

Elsewhere, Tinker is now back to Eggman as soon as he had regain his memories once he saw how damaged Metal Sonic is. All thanks to the platypus doctor that Zero mentioned earlier (only he mistaken him as a duck) as he was called Dr. Starline. He even brought in Rough and Tumble to kidnap Tinker and bring back Eggman he knows and a very big fan of his work. Eggman sat in his wheeling chair staring at the computer in front of him with his fingers pressed together with an evil grin.

"So the biodata Metal Sonic copied off of Sonic and Shadow was corrupted? How unfortunate. Perhaps you could reconstruct...?" Dr. Starline questioned.

"No, the moment's passed. Neo did well, considering the lack of my brilliant leadership, but it's over." Eggman responded.

This confused Dr. Starline as he raised his eyebrow.

"But... it looks like he came so close. Why not--?"

Eggman waved him off dismissively.

"Ah-ah-ah! It's time for a change of pace."

He got up from his seat and started to walk off as Dr. Starline followed him.

"Does this mean you have a new plan in mind?"

"Of course! I always do. But it will need time to test and prepare." Eggman said and pointed at Dr. Starline. "Which is why I'm putting you in charge of keeping Sonic distracted until I'm ready!"

Dr. Starline immediately saluted happily.

"O-Of course, sir! It will be my honor! I know exactly how to lure him into an ambush!" he said before frowning a bit. "But I should warn you that traitor Infinite brought in two new guests into our world that I'm not familiar with. According to my research, they're from another dimension and that the girl named Gwen was the rookie from the time you actually won against Sonic and had Infinite. Only to be defeated again"

Eggman stopped and turned.

"What?! But how?!"

"I don't know, sir. But somehow Infinite knew." Dr. Starline said.

"That rookie...!" Eggman growled in disdain. "No wonder Infinite is here and alive! She brainwashed him with goodness..!! That rodent girl!"

He then turned to Dr. Starline, who flinched at the attention.

"Do you at least know their weaknesses?"

"Yes! I watched them very carefully, especially that alien who's a Black Arms." Dr. Starline confirmed.

"Good. If they did come with Sonic, you ambush them as well." Eggman stated.

"Yes, sir."

Before Eggman walked downstairs with Cubot and Orbot following him behind as they met up with Rough and Tumble, who are looking at their own paper in disdain.

"Is this some kind of sick joke?" Rough questioned.

"How are we supposed to use weapons like these?" Tumble questioned, holding up the paper to Eggman.

With an unimpressed expression, Eggman snatched their papers and switched it off before handing it back to them. Rough and Tumble looked back at the paper and smiled in satisfaction.

"Oh! This makes a lot more sense!" Rough grinned.

"I can't wait to use this!" Tumble exclaimed in excitement.

Eggman placed his fingers on his head in frustration at their stupidity before walking down further towards his lab as Cubot and Orbot followed him.

"I called up the schematics on file as you requested, boss." Orbot reported.

"Are you sure you really want to unleash that on the world?" Cubot questioned.

"Oh, yes! Yes indeed!" Eggman grinned without hesitation. "I've suffered quite the indignity during my last setback. Now the world will be made to suffer in return!"

The red hologram popped up from the screen to reveal an Eggman Virus.
