84 | The Man With Grey Eyes

"The blood loss issue was countered well, I believe?" DCP Raghav Katoch questions from behind them.

"See," the doctor rubs his hands together, licking his lips, "she suffered a moderate blood loss of 20%, which is around one liter. And we could counter it because she and Surgeon Commander Rao here," he gestures at Vijaypath, "have the same blood group—O negative. But that doesn't rule out the weakness she'll feel."

Raghav nods.

"Also, I had a talk with Mrs. Dogra just this morning. She actually dislocated her shoulder to loosen the ropes when she was in captivity, so I sent her to undergo an X-ray and an MRI scan just to check for any ligament tears and probable nerve or vessel injuries. Thankfully, as per the reports of both the scans, there aren't any. Plus the joint is properly aligned as well." The doctor concludes. "She needs proper rest. No exaggerated movements for the next two months, plus she'll have to use a wheelchair for the time being and we can possibly shift her to to a hospital in Delhi tomorrow itself."

"It's better to allocate a medical team for such cases." He adds.

"True." Mahadevan nods, coursing his fingers through his already unkempt hair.

"By the way," the doctor raises a brow, thoroughly examining each of their faces from behind his specs. "For a human, especially a human female, to dislocate and then re-dislocate her shoulder on her own, and then show such kind of moderate to less impact on the body overall, despite all the injuries she went through, and also the kind of rate of recovery she is exhibiting—it's not something we, in the medical field, see every day. Such cases are thin on the ground." He pauses, checking their expressions yet again. "And that brings me to a question I wanted to ask for the past few days—is Mrs. Dogra trained in combat by any chance?"

"Just curious." He specifies genuinely, with a shrug of his shoulders.

One by one, all eyes settle on the man who had revealed himself as the Dogra matriarch's 'mentor' just a few days ago—DGP Aravind Hariprasad—except the Dogra patriarch's, who sits still. Silent and unpredictable. His puffy eyes lined with dark circles focus solely on the platinum band around his ring finger, which he plays with. The chief of security watches everything with soft eyes.

Aravind Hariprasad stares out of the window in the chamber with a fleeting gaze. Then, he clears his throat. "Battle axe and Krav Maga." He announces as the room falls into a deep pit of shocked silence. "She is trained in both of those things."

"We need to talk, Mr. Prasad." The commander stands up, facing the DGP, and just like that the atmosphere turns even more tense.

"Not now, please." The Dogra patriarch intervenes the very next second. "Can we meet her now?" He averts his gaze towards the doctor.

"Yes." The physician nods, passing him a reassuring smile.

This causes the patriarch to get up. He then directly walks out of the doctor's office, followed by the chief of security.

The commander follows.

They see a number of people on the way, all there to see the woman in the VIP hospital room at the end of the corridor.

"Papa!" The toddler flails his arms and legs around in the air as Indrani Vishwakarma chuckles.

She lets him stand on the floor as he rushes towards his father, who picks him up, hugging him close to his chest. The chubby little kid giggles in turn.

Aridaman Dogra watches everything closely.

His eyes settle on his brother and his nephew, eventually shifting towards Indrani, who avoids all kinds of interaction with him, let alone looking him in the eye.
