Define Me

Half an hour later, both me and Aaron are dressed and ready to go, I fixed him up with a navy suit with a grey under shirt, I know it doesn't sound that nice but the suit has grey highlights so it goes better.

 To be honest I think he was quite impressed with my pick.

We left our room and headed to the meeting room, we had missed breakfast but I needed the extra sleep after being out most of the night. The figure in the hall had mostly slipped my mind by now, I know Kenji will have things under control and I doubted anything would become of it.

When we entered the room, Adam, Kenji and Winston were already there, caught deep in conversation. Once they noticed us, they looked up and greeted us with warm smiles.

Adam's was not so warm. 

 'So what's the updates?' I asked.

'Mostly things are starting to pick up in the sector' Kenji stated, 'crime rates have fallen, people are happy to be reunited with family members and friends, but many are still finding it hard coming to terms with what has happened. Our main focus now is on food, jobs and getting a better currency in place.' He looked up at us both in turn. There was some statistics on a board but i didn't bother trying to understand them, maths was never my strong point.

'Right, okay, so we can easily set up some jobs right, but the problem would be how to pay them... how about we just say everybody able to work, works on the farms, or in the factories or as guards and for the time being all the goods get distributed evenly until everyones basic needs are covered.' I looked around for encouragement and Warner nodded supportively, 'once thats grounded we can set up the currency and get things back in place.

'Sounds good to me' Kenji piped up.

'The problem we have though, which we all need to realise is that Juliette's territory doesn't just stretch as far as this sector, she is now essentially in charge of the world, everywhere else is still probably following the rules of the reestablishment.' Adam looked around questionably.

A heavy silence filled the room as realisation sunk in, the unanswerable reality that I knew I had to face. 'I know that Adam, but there is only so many of us and I think we should stay here for the time being before venturing further into the world.' I answered worriedly.

'I agree with Juliette on that one' Adams eyes flashed angrily in Aaron's direction as Aaron paced up and down the table and continued talking, 'We can only do so much at the time being, and we don't know what else is out there, it would be too risky at the moment to spread our power, we need to work safely and slowly or else what we have here could easily be destroyed, its not that we wouldn't be able to fight them but we need to win the people's trust and we can only do that by proving ourselves first.'

Kenji joined in, 'If we destroyed all of the reestablishments work right now, we wouldn't have the resources to provide for the population.' He looked pained as he talked. 'I hate leaving people like this, but we need patience at the moment'

'Well lets get this show on the road then people' Winston pushed, 'oh and also before I forget!' We all turned to face him curiously, then he grabbed something of the table and raced off shouting 'ONE MINUTE, ILL BE RIGHT BACK' as he exited the room in a flash. I walked over to the water dispenser to get a drink, this was going to be a tough day... As I was sipping from the cup I noticed Aaron and Adam kept on glaring at each other, ugh I wish they would just move on already. They have gotten a little better recently, but they fall out,

ALOT.

I don't think they will be having that thing called a brotherly bond for a little while yet...

'AND IM BACK' Winston announced as he reclaimed his place at the table, 'Okay everyone, I have you all someone I want you to meet, he's something of a genius' A lanky, I'd say 20 year old pondered into the room. A pair of thick rimmed glasses rested on his freckled nose, he was dressed in fitted black trousers and a lose ruffled shirt.

'Okay, so this is Mal' the guy Mal stood awkwardly, and gave a weak wave as he pushed his hand through his chocolate brown hair. 'he's been working with me for the past few months coming up ways to strengthen our abilities using science, well its more than that, but i'll give you the simple explanation...'

'Okay come on then, you've held us in suspense long enough' Adam muttered.

okay okay, yes and we have found a way to maximise Sonya and Sara's healing capabilities, if they take the drug; which is of course completely harmless, then they can heal not only people but the land its self!' his enthusiasm was not met by us, who didn't really have any idea what that actually meant.

'Ummm, can u please explain that a little more, sorry Winston' I suggested 'What does that mean for us exactly?' Winston clapped his hands in excitement and Mal continued to stand awkwardly next to him, probably the complete opposite of Winston...

'YES YES, so it means that we can grow fruits and good healthy food again in mass quantities, once the land is ready and replenished we can set up work for people to get some proper food. Most of the soil a the moment is poisoned from the acidic air which exhibits the growth of healthy foods, but that will not longer be an issue!' 

We all understood this time, 'Thats amazing Winston!' I cheered, 'things can finally start moving forward quicker' A smile spread onto my face and even Mal looked kind of chirpy. The others all seemed in agreement that it was a good idea as well. 'That should be it for todays meeting then, thank you all for coming and I'd like to thank you especially Winston and Mal, your work is of great importance.' I shuck both of their hands and then strode up to Aaron and took his muscular arm under my own, his touch was so warm and I felt a buzz of content seep through me.

'Lets go get lunch, I'm starving after all that work' I chimed.
