You drop the blanket, your mouth hanging open. "But... but that's..." you stutter. Lizzy nodded.
"Impossible? Yes, I know. He was here when I woke up," she explained, pointing an accusing finger in Loki's direction. "I still think he's a pervert, but he insists he wasn't watching me sleep."
Loki chuckled. "That's because I wasn't. Who might this... ah... charming young lady be?" he asked. You blush, looking down at your sweatpants and tank top.
"Y/N," you whisper and he raised his eyebrows.
"Speak up, young one. I may be a God but my hearing is the same as any mortal's," he said, looking amused. You frown.
"Y/N. My name is Y/N," you repeat, louder this time. He smiled.
"A lovely name, for a lovely girl," he whispered, and you blush. Lizzy shook her head.
"Hell to the no. Back off my best friend, Loki," she snarled. "You're called the Trickster for a reason. Because you're a dick. Touch her, and I'll chop your balls off."
You wince, looking over at your friend in exasperation. You know she's right but... come on. He's attractive as hell.
Loki laughed. "Such unladylike language," he tutted. Lizzy tensed. You slide sideways, away from her incoming wrath.
"Listen here, douche bag," she started. Loki looked surprised. "Just because you're a god doesn't mean I have to take shit from you about how I talk. I am anything but ladylike and proud of it. Classic gender roles are long dead and I will not be forced back into them by some over grown, whiny, long-haired leprechaun!"
Loki looked taken aback. "I am not a leprechaun!" he sputtered indignantly. You struggle not to laugh.
"It's all the green," you explain. "She couldn't think of a better insult." Lizzy whirled on you and you hold up your hands. "Calm down. We get it. Breathe."
Lizzy frowned at you. You turn to Loki. "So why, may I ask, are you in my best friend's living room?" you ask him.
"Well, Y/N. I could tell you my plan," he began. "But that would be incredibly foolish of me. So I shall not. However, I will tell you that it poses no harm to you humans. In fact, it will make one of you incredibly happy. Or so I am told."
"Tell us why you're here or you're never leaving this house." Lizzy threatened. He sighed.
"I mean to take a wife, and as my brother has such a keen interest in you humans, I thought I would try and find one here on Earth."
Your jaw drops open again.
