The next morning, you wake up to claws in your left shoulder as Blue streaks across your sleeping body. You sit up so fast your vision blurs a little and the poor kitten, not expecting to suddenly have her running surface shift, is thrown forward onto the other side of the couch. You curse under your breath, rubbing your now hole-filled shoulder. Blue flails herself into a sitting position and stares at you, looking deeply offended.
"You don't get to be mad at me!" you say softly, reaching for her. She scoots back, meowing at you angrily. You cross your arms. "Ma'am, you stabbed me in the whole entire shoulder with all your claws while I was asleep. If you didn't want to get yote, maybe you should have not put your tiny deathneedles in my armflesh!"
She hops off the couch and struts away, tail held high in the air like the little diva she is. You roll your eyes and slouch back onto your pillow, stretching. You replay the previous day's events in your head, smiling slightly when you recall your meal with Loki. You roll over and smush your face into your pillow, hiding your blush from the empty room.
And yourself.
Okay, mostly yourself.
You groan, turning onto your side and reaching for your phone to check the time. You have to lean most of your body off the couch to reach it, and it takes two hands to unplug the chord. As you are in this very precarious and rather stupid position, a very grumpy looking Lizzy with a blanket hiding all of her but her eyes and nose shuffles out into the living room. She grumbles something and tries to sit on the couch, sitting on your foot and pushing your ankle the opposite of the correct direction. You yelp, tumbling off the couch and knocking half of the coasters and remotes off the coffee table. Lizzy shoots back up, tripping over the blanket and falling directly on top of you, sending all of the breath out of you in a loud whump. You wheeze, and she starts giggling.
"Yes, yes, this is hilarious when you're not the one getting crushed," you grumble in a strained voice, rolling her off of you as she snort-laughs and tries to detangle herself from her comforter. You crack a smile, massaging your hip and standing to pick up the coasters. At this exact and most inopportune moment, there's a knock on the door. You straighten, going to step over the still cackling Lizzy just as she tries to stand. You find yourself on the floor yet again. Lizzy laughs harder, and you elbow her in the side. "Come in," you giggle, rolling onto your back.
Unsurprisingly, the door opens to reveal a very confused Loki and Thor. The looks on their faces have Lizzy laughing even harder, and you can't help but join. The kittens glance warily around the corner, and upon seeing Loki, run into the room meowing and circling his ankles as he tries to get into the room. He stumbles, trying not to step on any of them, then sits down and lets them crawl into his lap. "Hello ladies," he says to everyone in general.
Thor walks over to try and help the both of you up, but Lizzy is at this point laughing so hard she can't even stand up because her legs won't work, so Thor just picks her up and deposits her on the couch, where she proceeds to fall over sideways, gripping her ribs. Thor turns to you as you stand. "What happened? Is it not a bit early for this much activity?" he asks.
You smile. "I never got to check the time so I have no idea. However, she started it, so talk to her. She sat on my foot and then tripped me when I tried to answer the door," you explain, eliciting a soft snicker from Lizzy. Thor raises his eyebrows.
"It wasn't on purpose, it was because she was half asleep and then she was laughing too hard to pay attention to where she was putting herself," you assure him. You pick up the rest of the coasters and the remotes, then shove Lizzy sideways (making her giggle again) and sit down on the couch.
"So, what's the plan for today, folks?" you ask, finally picking up your phone. 8:00 am. Not bad.
"I have work tonight," Lizzy says, still slightly out of breath. "Oh, that hurt. That hurt a lot. My poor ribs."
"When does your shift start?" you ask, poking her in the ribs lightly. She swats at you, wincing slightly.
"5, I think," she responds, standing up. "I'm gonna go take a shower, y'all figure out what we're doing."
You start going through various options on your phone. "What are you boys interested in doing? What all have you seen?" You look to Loki, who has Charlie held up to his face with her tiny paws on his nose. He shrugs.
"Not much, I didn't exactly have much time to sightsee while I was trying to take over the planet, you know." His brother's face darkens at the mention of what happened in New York. You nod.
"What about you, Thor?" You turn to him as he shakes his head. You frown, thinking. "The zoo, maybe? Or we could just stay in and watch a movie or something? What do you think?"
Thor grins. "The zoo has all the animals, yes? I like animals. Brother?" he asks, kicking Loki in the hip. Loki casually punches him in the ankle.
"The zoo sounds wonderful."
A/N: Howdy everyone. That's right, you get a zoo chapter. I know nothing much happened this chapter, but I think it fits with the natural flow? Anyhow, see y'all in the next chapter. Peace love and pixie dust! XOXO
