I've never been this happy

I've never been this happy. Like, ever.

I'm standing in our kitchen, sunlight pouring through the big windows, my hands sticky with batter, and I'm grinning like an idiot at nothing.

The house smells like vanilla, cinnamon, and blueberry I bought yesterday. My phone is blasting old Tollywood songs on shuffle, and I'm swaying my hips while whisking.

Life feels... perfect.

For the first time in twenty-five years, since past few weeks or should I say months, I am wake up excited.

I have a husband who kisses my forehead every morning like it's the most natural thing in the world. I have friends who feel like sisters.

I have a tiny human growing inside my best friend's belly that I'm already obsessed with.

And I have a new hobby—cooking and baking healthy stuff for Amulya because pregnancy has turned her into the pickiest eater on planet Earth.

I know, I know. Everyone says I use my brain the least in our group and I completely agree. Amulya is the genius doctor, Aarohi is the quiet wise one, Aaravi is the ice-cold lawyer who can destroy anyone in court. And me? I'm the loud, dramatic, food-obsessed one.

But these girls... God, they make me lie to their parents every time they sneak out at 2 a.m. for "emergency sleepovers."

First Amulya - because obviously Abhimanyu couldn't live without her for one night back when they weren't married, and now since a few weeks ago Aaravi - still no idea where she went - I might actually know Shhh! Secret, but she came back with bright eyes and a soft thank-you hug that broke my heart.

I complain, I roll my eyes, but secretly? I love being their safe place.

Especially now when Amulya is in her second trimester and everything makes her want to puke except strawberries, my avocado-chocolate mousse and few others.

So I've turned into a mad scientist—researching, experimenting, tasting, noting down what makes her eyes light up. I'm learning new ingredients, new techniques, nutrition charts.

I actually enjoy it. Who knew?

I glance at the calendar stuck on the fridge. Baby Rao is coming in few months and I am going to spoil that child.
