John has been taking care of me since I got out of the hospital. I can finally walk without feeling pain in my stomach. Today was my first day back at school. I was sitting in the back of the bus when a familiar bully came up to me. "Nobody is here to protect ya now!" The tower of fat said. I didn't budge. "Ya know. I think getting shot really snapped some sense into me." I said without any voice cracks. "Now please sit down the bus it about to start moving." Everyone gasped. They knew me as the quiet, shy girl who just moved here.

After being gone for five weeks I felt more bold. Dave wasn't here to protect me. Now I must protect myself. "You little bitch!" He screamed and aimed a punch at my face. I moved over to the side causing him to swing at the air and fall to the floor. Everyone burst out laughing. I ignored them and got a pair of earbuds from my pocket. I listened to music until everyone started filing out of the bus.

I unplugged my headphones, and headed to my first class. I sat next to John. "Hey" I smiled. "Back in class I see." He winked. "John... I was wondering if... you could teach me to be a Hunter?" His eyes widened slightly. "I'll ask Jake and get back to you with an answer." John grabbed my arm and whispered into my ear, "If he says yes it will be tough. Mark my words training won't be easy and you will be pushed to your breaking point." He let go of my arm and started paying attention to the teacher.

I heard knocking at my door. I yelled "come in!" And heard the door open. "Hey (Y/N)! Jake said yes!" I smiled. "When do we start?" I asked. "Now." He said tugging at my arm. "Okay! Just let me grab my phone before we go." John waited for me at the door and when I reached him we were off.

"Where are we going?" I asked. John had started leading me through a trail in the local forest. After about an hour of walking, we arrived at a small cabin in the woods. John lead me inside. I recognized Jake, but I didn't recognize the other person. She had long black hair and gorgeous green eyes. She resembled John in a way. "Hello! I'm Jade!" We shook hands.

Jake cleared his voice, "ahem. Hello (Y/N)! Today we are going to cover two things. Demon anatomy, and magical properties." I nodded. "Please sit down." I sat in an old, beaten up wooden chair. John hung up a diagram of a demon in both human form, and demon form. "(Y/N) do you know how to identify a demon in human form?" Jake asked me. "They have slight fangs, super human speed, and glowing eyes?" I guessed. "Correct" he winked and and started pointing things out on the other diagram.

"Demons in full form have bat-like wings, fangs that extend past their chin, pointed ears, one to three inch long claws, and a variety of varying abilities." He took a drink of water and continued talking. "Before I continue I must explain another thing to you. Demons have magical abilities. Such as super human speed, mind reading, super human strength, the ability to moves objects with their minds, and/or the ability to control an element such as water, earth, wind, or fire. Human also may have these magical traits. Although it is very rare for a human to be born with magical properties it is possible." He smiled because I didn't look confused. "Both John and Jade have magical abilities. I will let John demonstrate." He gestured at John.

John created wind from his hands and used it to move things around. "Jade has several abilities, one of which allows her to sense other magic." She came over to where I was sitting. And entwined her fingers with me. "Don't worry! It won't hurt" she smiled. I felt a cool sensation flow through my body. I opened my eyes and Jade released her hands from mine.

She walked over to Jake and whispered something I couldn't make out. His eyes widened slightly and he turned back to me. "(Y/N)! I need you to listen to me very closely. You have a very powerful type of magic and if a Demon ever found out you possess this ability they will turn you then and there!" He almost shook me back and forth. "You possess an unnaturally strong ability to see into the future. If Jade, John, and I train you correctly we may be able to teach you how to see an opponents move before they make it." He smiled a little bit.

"What would happen if they knew I possess this ability?" I asked. "They would want you on their side. The transformation from demon to human enhances any magical properties that may be present. Allowing you to see things that will happen from any point in time. The demons would most likely find a way to take advantage of you for information and battle tactics only. Leaving you chained up in a cage for the rest of eternity." He finished. "We aren't going to let that happen Jake! When do we start training?" I asked. "Tonight" he grinned.
