-Your POV-
If felt like I just watched them pull the plug, but did it really happen?
"I'm afraid demons don't exist." Dave smirked a little, and helped me sit up. "I missed you." He mumbled. "What happened?" "You were in a car crash."

A car crash.

"Why am I in the hospital?" Dave looked at John. "You were injured in the car crash." What car crash? I thought. I don't remember a car crash.

A car crash. Was Dave telling the truth? "Where are Jake, and Bro?" I said urgently. "They were in the car. Jade, Jake, Bro, and Terezi all died in the accident." Dave said sadly.

The demon-attacks, were they real? "Karkat? Sollux? John?" I asked. "They survived." He answered. "Were you driving?" I asked.

If demon Dave said he killed them, wouldn't he have been the driver?

"Yes. I crashed the bus." He mumbled. I embraced him in a hug. "It's alright." I ran my hands through his hair and rubbed his back.

"(Y/N)?" He said. "Yea?" I answered. "You said something about demons. A swarm of bats flew into the windshield. That's why it crashed." I looked stunned.

Bats. Bats and demons. They both have wings, fangs, claws, and pointed ears.

"How long have I been in a coma?" "over two years." I gasped. Was it all a dream? Was it all one big nightmare?

"(Y/N)? Are you alright? You look pale!" Dave said urgently. "I'm fine." I gave a fake smile, but everything was starting to become fuzzy.

"I don't matter anyway." The words came from my mouth before I could take them back. The hospital lights became fuzzy stars, and my eyelids could no longer remain open.

"Dave?" I muttered and opened my eyes, but I wasn't lying in a hospital bed. I was on the cold, hard, ground.

The only thing was, it was different this time. The trees were on fire, and Terezi, Jake, Jade, and Bro were lying on the ground.

I stumbled to my feet. The fire was everywhere. Dave and John were no where to be seen.

I need to survive

The words repeated over and over again. Survive.

The only ways out are up, or through. Up or through? Survive or die?

I got a running start, and ran through the flames. They licked at my feet, and ran up my legs, but I didn't feel their pain.

I kept running until my legs wouldn't listen anymore. I collapsed in a nearby stream. Survive or die? I crawled out of the stream, and slid across the ground to the nearby street.

"What's this?" A deep voice growled. "Looks like barbecue." Another voice answered. Survive or die? "I'm not a fucking meal..." I said in a scratchy voice. "Fuck off you damn bats!" I hissed, and they turned into bats.

Was I imagining something? They turned into bats! I pulled myself off the ground, and limped into the hospital. Survive or die? Wake up or dream on?

Survive or die? I opened my (E/C) orbs. I was in the hospital bed again, but which one?

"Dave!" I yelled, and he jolted awake from the chair beside my bed. "Are demons real?" "Demons?" I let out a sigh. "This is going to sound odd, but Dave- can you kill me?"

His eyes widened. "No! NO! NO!" Dave yelled.
I sighed. "Dave. I've been in a coma for two years. I've fallen in love with a demon, that may be where I messed up. This world is unfamiliar, and I'm afraid I don't know you anymore. I'd rather keep dreaming, because I like it better there..."

Dave looked upset, maybe even devastated. "Please... Kill me." The words left my parched lips, and ate away at the silence.

"I can't. I'm in love with you!" He pleaded. "I'm sorry, but I can't return the favor. I'm in love with a demon..." I grabbed the IV from my wrist and used the needle to slice my neck. "Bye Dave."

I jolted upward in a different hospital bed. "Are demons real?" I said upon finding my voice. "Why wouldn't they be?" A voice answered. "Dave?" I sat up to get a better look at him. I embraced him in a hug.

I smiled. "Dave?" "Hmmm?" I pressed my lips onto his and passionately kissed him. He joined in after the initial shock. "I love you" I whispered into his ear and kissed him again. I never want this moment to end...

"What happened?" Dave asked me when we parted. "I chose to stay." He looked confused. "On average you spend twenty years dreaming in your life time. Enough time to justify it's a different reality, and I chose to stay." He frowned. "Why stay in a place like this? You have no parents, demons are constantly trying to kill you, and you've almost died several times!" He argued.

"Is this a trick question? I fell in love with a demon, and that demon is you." He smiled. "What if I told you this wasn't a dream?" I giggled. "What if I told you I didn't care?" He smiled.

Time-skip two months later

"Dave!" I ran over to him. "Sup." he replied and embraced me in a quick hug. "Take off your glasses." I whispered. He slowly slid them off. I beamed. "Your eyes are so beautiful." I smiled, but he looked away.

We sat down on a bench in the park. "Dave, the first time I saw your eyes, I was scared to death, and I still am. The first time, I was afraid I would never live to see another day.  When I see them now, I'm afraid I'll never see another day without you by my side." I laid my head on his shoulder.

"(Y/N)?" "Yea?" I answered. "What if this wasn't a dream, but just another sentence in a story. The story of us?" "I don't know. What if it was?"

He sighed. "Hey, you reading this! Don't close the book! Don't end our story!" Dave yelled. "Please don't close the book, I want a happy ending!" I almost screamed. I couldn't see ahead anymore. "Dave, I think this is the end!" I nestled into his chest. "I love you." "I love you too!"

-Author's POV-
They never saw it coming. I smiled as I typed the last sentence of a crazy love story. I hope you don't close this book...
