Chapter 12
I decided on not talking to Chase for the rest of the weekend. Don't get me wrong the boy has been trying super hard and it has been tough not talking to him but after the stunt that he pulled at the mechanics on Saturday I wasn't having it.
He had punched Damien and I am guessing he took it as a surprise or maybe the impact was just as hard that he stumbled to the floor. I had wanted to reach him and see if he was ok but before I could have even taken a step toward him Chase had already thrown me over his shoulder and carried me to his car.
Once I was home, I started ignoring him. He apologizes maybe about 100 times, but he was going to have to do more than apologize.
He even went as far as to knock on my door. Now if mom would have answered she would have let him in, and I would have been forced to talk to him. But fortunately, Jason was the one that answered I'm surprised Jason didn't kick his ass right then and there.
But now it was Monday and with Chase in every single one of my classes it was going to be hard to ignore him now. And plus, my car was still in the shop, I had no way of contacting the mechanic. I thought about calling Damien a couple of times before realizing that I didn't even have his phone number.
And to top of being carless it was raining outside.
It's like the universe can sense how pathetic I truly was.
I had to walk to school. Mom had an early meeting with her firm. And well I didn't see a point in asking Jason for a ride.
I stepped outside of my door looking at my poke-a-dot umbrella.
I should just skip school.
I started walking down the pavement on to the sidewalk, ok, I mean it wasn't raining that hard. The worst that could happen was getting my combat boots wet.
Honk honk.
I looked up to see a black Camaro.
"Emma get in!" Chase yelled from his driver's seat.
"Leave me alone Chase."
He stopped his car and parked it. Running up to me and holding me from my elbow.
I looked up at him. He was beginning to get soaked. His hair that was usually a mess was starting to stick to his forehead.
"Please Emma, please."
He gave me what I am assuming we're his best puppy dog eyes.
And let me tell you they were working.
Stay strong Emma, stay the fuck strong.
I was about to answer when suddenly, I saw Jason from the corner of my eyes. He was at a jog heading towards us.
"Get off of my sister. I am not going to tell you again."
"This is between Emma and me. We need to talk this out." Chase said not even bothering to look at Jason, he was pleading me with his eyes.
"My fist is going to be talking with your face if you don't let her go." Jason pulled me towards him towards back home. "Get in the car Emma, I'm taking you to school."
Jason taking me to school. If it wasn't raining already, I wouldn't have doubted that it would of had later. Hey maybe pigs were flying I had the urge to look up and see if they were. But resisted since I didn't feel like getting my glasses wet.
