Adventure Time with Fionna and Marshall (Fiolee)

The crowd's chatter must be deafening out there; able to penetrate the walls of the castle so much that I can barely hear myself think. Banana guards' watch over me as I just sit there waiting for the inevitable.

Suddenly, a hush comes over the crowd and what once was a deafening roar of voices is just the sound of the blood pounding in my ears and footsteps outside the door. The double doors open to reveal Cake with a bright green satin bow tied around her neck, but not bright enough to open up her sour face. "It's time." She reaches out to take my arm to lead me down the aisle.

I step out into the hallway as Cake guides me to the court yard, the Banana guards following close behind. My painful heels click down the hall to pause in front of a set of giant double doors. Behind them, a wedding march begins to play.

The doors begin to open outwards, revealing me to the hundreds that flocked here to see this 'grand' event of the century. I stare down an aisle easily 500 feet long to accommodate the massive crowd and Gumball's ego.

Cake pulls me tighter against her as we take our first slow steps onto the pastel pink runner. I take my steps slow to match the, thankfully, slow march down the endless aisle. I pass by all my friends stationed on the ends of their rows; as I pass by they smile honest smiles, unlike the one I wear now. LSP, Turtle Prince, Ghost Prince, Tree Stumps with Mrs. Pig, Berry Prince, even Flame Prince, all the people I love waving me on and 'aww' as tears start flowing down my cheeks, unknowing of their real reason. Everyone I love, but not the one guy I 'love'.

The march ends perfectly as I take my last steps at the altar. Cake solemnly kisses my hand and hands it to Gumball with a quiet hiss in his direction before she steps away to her place on the side with Lord Monochromicorn.

Gumball leads me up to the altar in his own bright pink tux accented with bits of purple. The minister motions for the massive crowd to sit before looking at the two of us hand in hand. "We are gathered here today to join Prince Gumball of the Candy Kingdom with Miss. Fionna the Human," he dragged on as I zoned out, scanning the crowd for Marshall and coming up short. Gumball squeezes my hand and gives me a warning glance to focus.

"Do you have the rings?" The man asks Gumball.

"Yes." He reaches into his pocket and produces two silver bands.

He reaches for my hand, saying words that I my jumbled mind doesn't process. He finishes and moves to slide the ring on my finger when a piercing scream sounds off in the distance, followed by an all too familiar, but now welcome, icy gust whipping my dress against me.

Ice Queen rises over the castle walls carrying something. Everyone turns around in their seats in horror of Ice Queen's uninvited arrival. "MY GUMBALL!" She screeches, swooping overhead and dropping something from her arms. It lands halfway down the aisle and rises up, umbrella and all, with burning black eyes.

"Marshall!!!" I yell in happiness, I kick off my shoes and run back down the aisle towards him in pure joy. He rushes towards me too as Ice Queen causes the people to scatter out of the kingdom. I'm about 100 feet away from him when I'm tugged on from behind causing me to fall on my face. I look back to see Gumball standing on my impossibly long train only a moment before Cake tackles him to the ground.

Marshall helps me to my feet and rips off my dress leaving the hem right above my knees. He scoops me up into his arms. "How...?" I'm speechless as he begins to float me out of the city.

"NO!" I hear Cake scream below us. I look down at her struggle with Gumball as he pulls out a small device from his pocket and we start to fall out of the sky.

I clutch onto Marshall's unmoving bod while I gratefully await our impact against the cold hard ground. I close my eyes in the last seconds before impact.
