Aaron took a deep breath and tried to gather his courage. He hadn't been planning on doing this yet, or like this, but after all the talking they had done last night, he knew it was the right time.

He crept into the bedroom where Sam was still asleep. He crouched down next to the bed and gently shook her shoulder.

"Sammy, wake up, I have a present for you." He whispered.

She did a sleepy sigh and smiled, her eyes were still closed. "Is it yummy?" She asked sleepily.

"It's not. Why don't you open your eyes." He said with a laugh, she was always thinking about food.

She opened her eyes, and smiled at him while she stretched out. "Morning." She said softly while she brushed his hair back.

"Good morning." He drew in a deep breath and launched right into it. "Sam, from the moment I saw you sitting alone at the bar, I knew I wanted to know you. Then I got to know you and everything seemed to be as it should. On thanksgiving last year when I saw you making pie with my grandma, I knew I had made the right choice when I bought this that weekend my parents came to visit." He pulled out the vintage engagement ring and held it out to her. "Samantha Claire Sloane, will you please marry me? It would make me the happiest man alive if you'd say yes."

Sam's mouth hung open in surprise, and her eyes welled up with tears. "Of course I'll marry you." She said as a tear fell down her cheek.

"Can I have your hand?" He asked.

She sat up and he came and sat next to her. He slipped the ring on her finger then grabbed her to pull her in for a kiss.

"Oh my God." She said, looking at the ring on her finger. "I need to call my dad."

"He's expecting your call. I texted him to let him know I was doing it today." He explained when she raised her eyebrow.

The morning progressed with a lot of phone calls, first Sam to her dad, then Aaron to his parents, next his brother, and his grandparents.

"Should we set a date?" Aaron asked, not really sure what planning a wedding entailed.

"I guess. How would you feel about a short engagement. Like three months?" She asked.

"Isn't that a little soon?" He replied.

"Yeah, but I'd rather get married sooner rather then plan it for a year from now then have something work related come up for you."

"That makes sense. Would we have time to plan the wedding of your dreams in that amount of time?"

"As long as you're there and at the end of it I'm married to you, it'll be the wedding of my dreams."

Aaron picked her up and spun her around.

"I have just one request. Can my brother marry us in his church."

Sam smiled, "I was going to ask you the same time."
