"Alright you kids can go, we'll clean this up" My mom says standing up.
"That's alright, I'd love to help" Austin says standing up as well. My mom smiles at him with her mouth slightly open then looks over at me as if she was a teenage girl swooning over a boy. I bring my hand up to my forehead and hang my head. Can she be anymore embarrassing?
"No, no, that's alright, you guys go" My mom says shooing us out of the dinning area.
We walked out of the kitchen and I awkwardly stood in the living room. Should I invite him to my room or would that be awkward? I mean I don't even know how my room looks right now. Does he even want to stick around?"So are we just going to stand here?" He asks answering my question.
"Oh, okay uhm we can chill in my room I guess" I shrug. I would say my basement, but Rachel usually goes down there after dinner and my parents will be in the living room. He nods his head giving me a small smile.
I turn on my heels and lead him to my room.
"Wait here" I turn around and face him showing him my index finger. I turn back around and open my door just enough so I can fit through. I slip in and close the door behind as fast as I could.
"Are you serious?" I hear Austin say from the other side of the door.
"Just a second" I say rushing around the room and picking up random articles of clothing that are laying around. My rooms usually not this messy, but with all this and exams I just couldn't be bothered to clean it up.
I throw everything in my closet and open the door to see Austin leaning against the wall in front of my door looking down at his phone. He looks up when he sees me and stands up straight.
"You can come in now" I say opening the door wider for him. He steps in looking around examining my room. I shut the door and walk towards the bed waiting for Austin to do the same.
"Are you two?" Austin asks frowning his eyebrows.
"What?" I ask confused as to why he would ask me that.
"Your room color is pink and you have like three stuffed animals sitting in that corner" He says walking over to the bed and motioning to the corner with my old stuffed animals.
"I happen to like the color pink, and those were given to me by my grandmother when I was younger, I can't throw them away" I say looking over at the stuffed animals. She passed away last year, it was really hard for me. We were really close and I couldn't bare to put away the stuffed animals. I've have them for 17 years.
"So..." Austin says breaking the silence and resting his back against the head board of my bed.
"What do you mean 'so'? Explain to me what happened earlier, I was held at gun point by your brother!" I say crossing my legs and positioning myself so I could see his face. Austin groans grabbing a throw pillow and crossing his hand over it holding the pillow against his chest.
"Fine" He grumbles. "I knew I would have to tell you everything eventually" He mutters to himself.
"Go on then" I urge him.
"Okay so who you met wasn't my full brother, he's my step brother. Not even. I don't know" He shakes his head.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"Well a couple years before I was born my mom went on a 'business trip' and had him with another man while she was with my dad." He says not looking at me. "No one's ever knew about him until one day when I was around twelve he showed up at our door asking for my mom." He looks up at me to see if I'm still listening.
