Chapter 5

George P.O.V

I ran as fast as I could to Laura’s apartment building. I needed to tell her what happened. Especially so she could finally be allowed to date the one she loved, publicly.

When I got there, I knocked on the door, just to hear Laura yell: “It’s open…” at me. I went inside and walked into the living room, just to find my best friend all cuddled up to Elliott, her real boyfriend. He knew I was gay, and still treated me like his brother and I loved him for that. He was completely okay with the fact that Laura and I pretended to be an item to keep my sexuality hidden.

“What’s up, Buttercup?” Laura sang as she saw the happy look on my face.

“AWW YOU TWO ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER!!! I TOTALLY SHIP ELLIAURA!!” I yelled back at her with a smile permanently present on my face.

They both smiled at each other and giggled. I ran the last few steps to the couch and engulfed them in a hug.

“Stop talking out of this, seriously what’s making you look like you ate a sun? Oh and your gay is showing…” Laura looked at me, smiling.

“They love me back!!” I couldn’t stop the smirk that replaced the permanent smile. “YOU TOLD THEM!?!” “NO JOSH TOLD US!” “Uhm am I missing something here?” Elliott interrupted our yelling session with a confused smile. “George is in L-O-V-E with Josh, JJ and Jaymi, but refused to tell them. But apparently Josh told them that he’s in love with them, and now they all know that they have feelings for each other!” “And you figured all that out from the yelling?” He still looked confused. “Yup!” Laura looked oddly proud of herself. “Well congrats on that, dude! I’m really happy for you!” “So you don’t think it’s odd that I love 3 different boys at the same time?” “Nope! Love is love no matter if it’s between 2 people, 4 people, a person and a bridge… Or if it’s between a girl and a girl/boy and boy/boy and girl. It doesn’t matter as long as they love each other.” I freaking love this guy in a totally platonic way.

“So I guess this means you want to ‘break up’ with me then?” Laura smiled even brighter than before. “YUP!! You guys can finally go public with your relationship, in a few months.” “Why in a few months?” Elliott looked confused. “Because it could cause a shit storm if you go public right after the fake break up. My ‘fans’ would probably think that Laura was cheating and that it was the only reason for the break up, and I don’t want Laura to be hated on.” “Oh it makes sense I guess. Want me to go with you to tell the guys and management?” Laura grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug. “Yeah I’m gonna need all the backup I can get when I have to tell management.”

*** 1/2 hour later at the boys’ flat***

Still George P.O.V

I can’t believe Elliott and Laura agreed to go with me to tell the boys. They all looked up as we walked into the kitchen where Jaymi was cooking dinner while Josh and JJ were cuddled up on the bench at the back wall.

“Why is she here? And who is he?” JJ asked. “Guys I want you to meet Elliott Gruenberg, the lead guitarist of Blessthefall. He is Laura’s real boyfriend.” I smiled at him as he shook their hands. “Wait did you say real boyfriend?” Josh looked confused at me. “Yeah I’m gay, and Laura is my best friend and the first one I told and when she found out, then she wanted to help me because I was terrified of coming out. We were never together for real! Laura and Elliott are real and both have helped me a lot and now we are gonna go see management now and I hoped you would come too…” I trailed off, hoping they wouldn’t notice the blush on my face. They all walked over to where I was standing and wrapped me in a group hug. “Of course we’ll go with you, Georgie, we love you!” Josh said and kissed my cheek.

***At the management office***

Josh pushed the doors open and we all ran up the stairs to our manager, Emmett, ‘s office. When we got there, I went in alone and told everything from me being gay to my break up with Laura to the manager.

When I was finished, he stood up and said: “Well, first of all, you and Laura are back together, second of all, you are not allowed to date boys and third, IF YOU EVER FALL FOR JOSH, JJ OR JAYMI, THEN SUCK IT UP, BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU WILL LOSE FANS!!”

I ran out of the office and past the guys and Laura before running into the nearest bathroom. Why do these things always happen to me?

There was a soft knock on the door. “Georgie please let me in!” Of course Laura would look for me. I pushed the door open and she slipped in and locked it after her.

“Josh, JJ, Jaymi and Elliott are in Emmett’s office, yelling at him for doing that to you… We all heard what he said and they are furious.” “Really?” “Yeah you should really have seen the look on their faces when Emmett said you couldn’t be together. I thought they’d break down the door and kill him on sight. Which is why I left Elli to deal with them.” “Smart girl… I am so lucky to have you as my best friend, Laurie!” she hugged me as my tears fell down my cheeks and stained her black Green Day shirt. “Nope I’m the lucky one. I mean how many people can say that they dated THE George Shelley?” “No one… Other than you, even if it were fake… The only girlfriend I’ve ever had and will ever have!”
