"Your recovery is amazing, minimal artificial wounds, your broken ribs have healed... overnight?"The doctor inspects me in confusion and awe.
"Well... (Y/N)... You were supposed to stay another week... but it seems we've had a miracle. We'll just take one more blood test, study your balance and if those come out a-okay we'll send you on your way." He tells me as I eat the hospital pancakes and grits made for me.
I nod before he exits, looking over at Jake who stares at me, a look of deep concern on his face.
"What?" I ask him with a mouth full of cheesy grits.
"How are you healed so quickly? After a week of sleep you barely regenerated any, and suddenly you're all fixed up over night?"
I look down at my pancakes, acting normal.
"Maybe I just needed to be awake to get regeneration started." I lie, sipping my orange juice.
Jake walks over to me and looks deeply into my eyes.
"(Y/N)"
I look into his eyes as he speaks.
"We both know that's bull. What happened?"
I sigh and look away.
"I didn't want you to worry... Jeff, another one of Toby's friends that wanted me dead at first, came for Masky and gave me a regen pill to help heal me sooner. I wasn't expecting it to work overnight and make me look like some kind of freak... but it did." I explain.
"Why are they helping you get out quicker? You're safer here..." Jake questions.
"Well... Slenderman, their leader, wants to meet me... he says I must be of importance if all 3 of his proxies saved my life. He sent the pill for me."
"No way!" Jake shouts in opposition.
"Jake... please... Slenderman said nobody is allowed to harm us... and... Toby will be there..."
I look into Jake's eyes, suddenly losing my appetite.
The doctor walks back in with a nurse at his side.
Jake takes a seat, quietly, not taking his eyes off of me.
"Okay, (Y/N). Let's test your balance first." He says as the nurse walks over to help me get out of bed.
I wasn't hooked up to any machines anymore, but I still needed some assistance.
I stand up, my bare feet on the cold tile floor.
It's easy to do so, but walking might still be a trick.
"Alright, you can stand," The doctor says, writing on his clipboard, "But let's see how you walk." He smiles.
"Just walk on the line." The nurse tells me.
I gulp and take a small step, inching forward.
I don't fall.
I suddenly have more confidence I'm myself, taking slightly bigger steps.
Everyone watches me as I carefully walk, smiling and walking at a normal pace, stepping off the line afterwards and walking around the room.
"I can walk!" I exclaim and everyone chuckles.
The doctor writes on his clipboard again before asking me to sit on the bed.
The nurse walks up to me and sticks a needle into my arm, drawing blood.
After she takes the blood sample she removes the needle and gives me a cute Steven Universe band-aid and smiles at me.
