"Chew. Swallow." Toby instructs hastily.

I do as I'm told, chewing the chalky pill and forcing myself to swallow, despite the awful taste that comes with it.

I instantly feel my energy increase and my pain decrease, I feel good enough to run six miles and a thousand push-ups.

"Woah, where'd you get that?"

"I have my own, I make them. I don't go anywhere without these, they really come in handy."

Toby pulls his mask back up and smirks at me, clutching his hatches and charges a familiar as big as an elephant, tackling it and hacking away at its limbs.

I watch in horror before prying my eyes away, looking around me at the horde of demons surrounding me.

I back away slowly.

'(Wo)man up! Fight them! Remember what dad said about being ballsy.'

"Ballsy girls are the most irritating girls there are." I mutter, smirking, swinging my staff around, swiping at a small dog-like familiar.

The familiar whines and growls as green slime oozes from the fresh wound.

The dog looks at the blood, then at me. He's at me in seconds. I slap him with the handle of my pike, swinging my body around and kicking it in the side, knocking it over before leaning back and stabbing it in the back.

The dog snarls and snaps at my leg with his grey teeth.

I put my weight on the pole, stabbing in further until the gnarls turn to whines, then to nothing.

I retrieve my weapon, charging and slamming it into the chest of another familiar that was sneaking up on Toby.

This familiar was tall and slanky, flesh peeling like old paint, muck and goo falling with each painful step.

He turns to me and moans, turning on his heel and trudging towards me, my spear in its back.

I look around for a way around him, being blocked by more familiars.

I mutter a curse, thinking harder, deciding to attack it head on. I run at the beast, kicking it back, hoping to push it down.

The familiar grabs my ankle with its sludgy limbs and holds on. I fall.

The crowd cheers at the familiar starts to anchor me towards it's mouth.

I kick and lash out at the monster, trying to get my leg free.

"Duck!" I hear someone yell, a familiar voice, I don't try to figure out who's it is, I follow orders.

As soon as I duck, my spearhead appears inches from my face.

The familiar shrieks in pain, letting me go as I scramble to my feet, rolling out of the way as he falls.

I analyze what had happened, Toby had kicked the spear through the monster, still fighting off two familiars at the same time.

I get up quickly, I was getting distracted.

I wasn't as good as I was white training.

I growl in frustration, holding my pike tighter, charging a familiar in my range, stabbing it once in the heart that was exposed by a giant hole and protected only by thin strings of flesh

I pull my spear through, ripping the heart out and flinging it at another familiar to blind it temporarily.

I bring my spear into the head of the familiar and thrust up with all of my might, piercing it through the eye.
