Gerald had his eyes open at quarter to three in the morning, staring at the rise and fall of Sarah’s chest. He felt sated, but still trying to wrap his mind around how everything seemed to have fallen into place.
It had been a tumultuous ride for them, rebelling their way against people conspiring around them. He knows how much sacrifice she has done for him, and it felt heavy to his stomach that she had lost a lot just to be with him.
It is a very damning thought; he couldn’t stop himself to think all the possibilities she would have if they have just decided to finally part ways. Sarah would berate him for thinking this. He could picture it, her not-too-scary scowl plastered on her face uttering words that he is being ridiculous. And he is, he knows it. But he couldn’t bear to think that it was- is him that hindered a lot of things for her.
Gerald jerked when a whimper roused from Sarah. He reaches his hand instinctively to smooth the frown on her face from having a bad dream.
He couldn’t imagine what life would be for him without her. He tried to distance himself, thinking it was the best for them. It polarised them and nearly put their relationship to finality. He traced the skin between her eyebrows lightly whilst reliving how scared he is of letting her in. He still is. He had built these walls around him to protect himself and ultimately her. But this adamant girl beside him had broken the walls piece by piece, driving the shadows behind him away.
But is he really worth all of these troubles? He always hear the maxim to set the person you love free, but that had turn out to be a mistake. He wasn’t a martyr; he was a bastard scoundrel dragging her name down with him.
The dilemma of embracing the burgeoning relationship between them but at a cost of risking her life or rebuilding the walls separating them for her sake nagged him.
He ghosted his fingers one last time on her silky skin, lingering on the love bite he marked on her neck. A phantom smile ghosted his lips as he lifted the quilt covering his bare chest, his feet touching the cold barren floor.
Gerald breathed out a sigh deciding that this was the best for them–for her.

Hey guys! This is the errr sort of description of the book. I'll be re-writing the whole book, adding new characters, twists and new plot (just gonna tweak it a bit - you'll see). I'll be changing the point of view to third person now as I think this style will really help me explore some... stuff (:D). The first pov limited me of this which was the reason why I had problems of expanding the plot. See yah :)
