My Lucky Day ( A Before You Exit / Toby Mcdonough Fanfiction )

" Thank Thor ! Where on Earth did you go ?! Are you okay ? What happened ? Have you found- " 

" TOBY CALM DOWN ! " I shout into the phone. " Wait did you just say thank Thor ? " 

" Yes yes I did. I ain't ashamed ! " He said and I could practically see his sassy finger and head swivel as we speak. 

" Okayyyy. At least you and Kristy have common grounds now. " I say extending the end for no apparent reason. " Anyway is Connor there with you ? "

" Yeah. Why ? " 

"Put me on speakerphone I don't feel like explaining this twice. " I commanded. 

" Hi ho ! " I hear Connor scream through the phone and get the sudden urge to burst out in spontaneous song but fight the urge bravely. Who am I kidding ?! 

" Hi Ho ! Hi Ho ! It's off to work we go ! * insert epic whistle solo here * Hi Ho ! Hi Ho Hi Ho Hi Ho ! " I purposely sing weirdly through the phone earning a few strange looks from the people around me. 

" Did you really just do that ? " 

" One does not simply hear a line in a Disney song ,and not spontaneously burst into said song. " I said feeling all fancy. 

"Okay then. So what'd you wanna tell us ? " 

" Oh yeah ! I wanted to tell you I found the love birds and they're fine. Oh and Kristy's mom's letting her stay but that's a long story I'll let her bore you with later. " I said earning a " Hey ! " from a very defensive Kristy. I hear the other two boys laughing through the phone so I'm almost positive they heard her too.

" As I was saying. We're sort of at the park down the street from the hotel and were sorta hoping you could cause a distraction so- " 

" Say no more I'm on it ! Just text me when you need the diversion to start ! Bye ! Wait that sounds like a pun, Peace ! " He said hanging up as I crack up at his lame goodbye. Not his best way of saying bye but at least it's not an unintentional pun anymore.

 " Well someone had a good phone conversation. " Kristy teased looking up at Riley with a giant smile. He smiled down at her almost as if they were secretly plotting through their mushy love bird looks. 

" Your brothers an idiot. "  I said trying to get the smile off my face but failing. Stupid Toby making me get a forever present smile. 

" Well we better start back. It's getting dark. " Riley said.

" And cold ! " Kristy added rubbing her arms. 

" Oh here take this. " Riley said taking his jacket off and put it around Kristy ,before we start down the road.

" Oh no I couldn't take this ! You'll get cold and- " 

" It's hard to get cold beside you. You shine like the sun and are twice as hot. " He said with a cheeky wink making Kristy laugh. 

" You're so corny ! " She said playfully hitting him. 

" But you love it. " He said grabbing her and pulling her closer to him. 

" Ewww ! You're one of those couples ! " I shout making them giggle. 

Don't get me wrong I'm happy for Kristy. It's just... It's just my mom didn't go that long ago and I feel bad for saying this ,but it doesn't seem right her being so happy so soon. I know ,I know. I'm terrible for thinking that. I can't help it though she loved my mom as much as I did and she seems to be perfectly fine. It's like she replaced my mom with Riley ,and call me crazy but I think she might even love him as much or more than she did my mom which makes me a little upset. Then there's a part of me that is jealous of her. Mostly for how easily she was able to be happy and love again.
