My Review:

Aww doens't everyone want to give Legolas a huge hug as he contemplates the most significant day in his young life so far, celebrating it without any of his family members? And he keeps telling himself that it is fine that he has no father present for such a significant moment in his life.... & certainly the reader is not fooled by such logical thoughts of someone who is trying desperately to soothe his heart. Thankfully his military buddies & his steadfast siblings-of-the-heart Ram En & Idhren will be there to celebrate this day with him. The emotiveness of this scene with Legolas' inner thoughts is excellently done.

And on the flip side of the coin, we see Handir reacting strongly to the news of a bastard brother. But how does one reveal such earth shattering news without the recipient reacting strongly? Great detailing & emotiveness once more.

LOL - yes, cuddly Leggy :))) He's a tough boy, trying to make it easier for himself by repeating over and over that not having family there on that special day is not important to him - glad you weren't fooled by that. He does have the Company, of course -and then there is the young Sindarin lord, watching from afar...
