My Review :
Well, this chapter may have been your stated "bane" when I last reviewed your first version of it, but by "laying you down" then, you have since soared to magnificent heights with this revamped chapter. Synergy indeed, with many parts of this seemingly longest chapter of the story so far, interacting to form the larger, sizzling & almost dizzying whole.
Central to this chapter is the new deep bond & friendship that develops between Legolas & Glorfindel. The garden scene with both of them is now no longer abrupt but realistic & believable, heart-warming, touching & even tear-jerking, unfurling at a pace cognizant with the rest of the story. Kindred spirit calls to kindred spirit, & Legolas recognizes the oxymoron where he hardly knows Glorfindel & yet feels he is the closest thing to a father he has ever had. Glorfindel is so gentle with Legolas here, imparting such wisdom & encouraging him to share deeply-felt emotions - such a contrast to the revered, harsh mighty warrior tutor during training. And in exchange for his help, all he wants from Legolas is friendship - a friendship that Legolas would have never dreamed that he could have, with someone he respects so much. A masterfully crafted scene :)
Glorfindel continues his mentorship of Legolas in the selection of his choice of weapons for mastery, pointing out the need to hold judgement of his grandfather for now & not let it affect his choice of spear as his weapon. One certainly feels as tired as Legolas, reading about all the training he does; dealing with seemingly racism-based hatred from a fellow Noldor warrior; getting a handle on his emotions in relation to his newly found family & wondering what kind of judgement Thranduil has sent; anxiety about whether his relationships with old friends will remain the same; & feeling frightened over Elrond's arrangement of an experiment with his yet-uncontrolled-and-not-understood green magic gift the next day. Hope Legolas experiences breakthroughs soon!

Author's ( NImruzirFanfiction ) response :
Oh yes!!! Maniacal air-punching here. Your review set my fine hairs on end. IT was such a strong desire that I had to get this right, and I cannot tell you how overjoyed I am with your generous words. It doesn't take much to get Legolas going on the question of not having had a father. He has been deluding himself all his life that it does't matter, that he's dead... And yet now, when someone merely takes an interest in him, guides him, he suddenly realises what it is to have a father.... And he wants it so much, in spite of what his own mind tries to convince him of. Thank you! I will sleep easy now, until The Inner Circle Part I.

My Response :
LOL XD Actually Turion & Lainion did take a deep interest in Legolas & guided him, & yet he did not have this feeling about them being a father to him... in fact Lainion becomes a brother in The Company. So in my view it runs a lot deeper than just someone merely taking an interest in him, guiding him; it's the kindred spirit factor in Glorfindel - a meeting & connection of hearts & minds, sharing the same vocational attitude to being a warrior, skills, training, values, etc. Like a son aspires to be like his father, Glorfindel encompasses all that Legolas aspires to be.

Author's Response :
Exactly, and there is a comment coming up, in which Glorfindel ponders on the possibility that Oropher's line is his weakness, that there is something irrisistible in their blood, that calls to his own...
=======================
My Response :
Oooo how transcendental!
