He looked back, giving me one last glance before leaving and I let out a loud sigh, leaning against the wall, crossing my arms over my chest and letting my head fall.

I guess I can get angry over certain topics but I can't help it, especially when we are talking about being mated to a human. It's something that can't happen at all, even if she is my mate, I'll reject her and go with Charlotte.

I've been looking for a mate for a while now and all the girls I've encountered —in and out of school— aren't my mate and it's starting to make me annoyed and angry and jealous of the people in my pack who have one.

Having a mate is like feeling complete in a way, but for me, my mate has to be a wolf and that's probably why I snapped when Damian said that this human girl could, could be my mate.

"You ok baby?" I looked up and saw the long haired blonde standing in front of me with her head tilted, Charlotte Amia, my pretend mate for now, she's a wolf so it's fine.

"I'm fine Charlotte, just sorting out pack stuff." I mumbled giving her a smile as I looked up.

"We should get to school, I don't want to be late." She whispered, grabbing my hand and leading me out the door.

We walked hand in hand towards her car in the garage when she stopped just in front of the door to the garage, I put my hands next to her temples and leaned closer to her.

"I thought you wanted to get to school?" I asked as a smirk played across my lips, she noticed and immediately brought her hands up to my cheeks.

"I do but I want to spend more time with you before we head off." Charlotte leaned closer and whispered in my ear, making my smirk grow.

"As much as I'd love to spend time with you, I need to see a teacher for something."

In one quick move, I spun Charlotte around so my back was on the garage door and her arms immediately wrapped around my neck, pulling my head down.

I put my hand around on the doorknob and twisted it, opening the door but not stepping through it.

"One quick kiss then you can go."

She left me no time to say no as she locked her lips with mine.

When I kiss Charlotte I don't feel anything purely because she isn't my mate.

When you meet your mate, it's like you can't live without them, you feel lost in the world, it's more important to have them around then breath or live even, but, it breaks your heart when they aren't around or you see them talking with another guy.

Charlotte pulled away from me and pushed me out the door, "Go to school before you're late, I have things I need to attend to." She smirked and shut the door in front of my face.

I shook my head as a smile formed, I turned and saw Damian standing in front of my car with his arms crossed over his chest and a frown covering his face.

I rolled my eyes and walked over to my Porsche, got in the drivers side and Damian got in on the passenger side. Putting the key in, I started the car and clicked the button for the garage door to open.

When the door was opened enough I drove out, making sure to close the garage door behind me.

"Did you enjoy your little kiss with Charlotte?" I tightened my knuckles around the steering wheel when he asked that question.

I guess he knows how to get on my nerves.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head, "Not going to talk about it Damian."

And that was the last thing said on the way to school. It was a silent ride but it wasn't uncomfortable.

I parked in my usual spot and hopped out of the car, immediately Damian and I were swamped by girls, all who are extremely jealous when they see Charlotte with me.

Pushing away from them we made our way into the hall were we met with a few of the other guys from my pack, Mason and Levi, both who have found their mates.

"Look who decided to show up on time today." Mason patted my back, pushing me towards the group.

"Can't stay, I got to go see a teacher. Damian, I need you to come with me."

Before he could answer I grabbed his wrist and dragged him through the hall, dodging people and letting go of Damian's wrist when I knew he wouldn't walk off.

"What do you need me for if you're seeing a teacher?" He asked, walking next to me, he looked around the room, probably looking for Brooklyn

"I'm not seeing a teacher." I mumbled also looking around the room.

"What?"

"You heard m—"

I stopped talking when I walked into a small body, stopping me in my tracks. She nearly fell over but I grabbed her arms, stopping her from falling down.

When I touched her, I felt the sparks I've heard so much about, the slowing down of the world around us and an amazing smell that filled the air around me, summery fruits filled my nose making me want more.

This girl is my mate.

But, there's one problem.

She's a human.

When the realisation hit me, I let go of her and gave her a little nudge, causing her to fall to the ground and I saw her hurting from what I did.

And it hurt me too.

"Watch where you're going loser." My voice was firm but it was lacking the anger I normally had, she's my mate and she's human, why I couldn't yell at her just then completely shocked me.

I looked down at her and saw she had long black hair, turning brown in the sunlight with the greenish-blue eyes like the ocean on a good day, exactly like what I want in my mate and exactly what I said to Damian who seemed to notice.

"I— I" She stuttered, tripping over her words as she tried to think of something to say.

I was looking down at her, she was beautiful, her long straight black hair fell over her shoulder as her green eyes looked scared, afraid of what I might do to her next.

"Hello, your mate is sitting on the ground right in front of you, do something." He whispered, causing me to close my eyes and let out a frustrated sigh.

I rubbed the back of my neck and turned around, I walked away a few steps when a thought popped into my head. A smirk appeared across my lips as I spun around facing this girl again.

"With a face like yours, I wish I was blind."

And the whole room around us burst into laughter.

I turned back around and walked off with an angry Damian right behind me. We walked through the hallways until the bell went off and everyone around us disappeared into the classrooms.

"Why the hell did you do that?" He yelled angrily, pushing me into the lockers that were crowding the hallway.

"I did it because I don't want a human mate!"

"Why don't you give her time and see what she's like, don't be an idiot and let your past control your future."

"I'm not going to give her time, I'll reject her when I find her out in town sometime."

"You'll want her the moment you reject her."

"I will never love a human, not after what happened to my father."
