ITS A TWO WAY THING

Tuesday morning
It was days like this that I thanked God for my life and that of the wonderful family he has given me.
Take today,Gabby was sprawled on the bed snoring mildly,while Amelia was cuddling her teddy bear as if her life depended on it, I smiled to myself at the memory of when Dad had bought Amelia pinky the teddy bear,she had refused to share it with me at the time,and we fought several times over it until I finally gave it up to her.since then,she has never gone anywhere without it,Amelia had a teddy bear,teddy bear,teddy bear,  And anywhere that Amelia went pinky was sure to go.
David was on the couch, facing down and deep in sleep, I got up and went to the bathroom to wash down and still came to meet my siblings sleeping,I went down the stairs to the dinning  room when I smelled fresh porridge,my favourite and mom's speciality,I smiled when mom hugged me after I had greeted her,It was like this in my family , everyone was open and free,my mom treated us like her agemates,which was rather cool to me because I have heard of parents who treated their children like slaves because they felt they were their property.
Two minutes later,I was happily drinking my porridge when Gabby strolled into the dinning room,"you that?,"he said as he sat down and drank from my cup,I quickly swatted his hand away as he placed the cup down and whimpered in pain."Go get your own",I said as I continued with my breakfast unperturbed. I was surprised when he didn't say anything,I mean that was so unlike him,he never gave up that easily,then suddenly he grabbed my cup of porridge and headed towards his room."Go get yourself another one ",he said as he went.
And go get yourself a life I shouted at his retreating back,that only made him laugh.why are siblings so anoying?.
After he had left,I went into my bedroom and got dressed,I was going out to see Eli my bestfriend.Elikem lived on the other side of town,in a not so habited part of town but at least she lived in a decent house,and her parents were also very jovial and warm hearted,I had fallen in love with them immediately on my encounter.
Elikem and I go way back in primary school when I used to share my snack with her because she had no money for snacks,after all is that not the essence of friendship,to be there for each other in times of hardships?,I sat down on my bed and immediately became reluctant when after asking Mom if I could go see Elikem she said yes but without the driver. I for one cannot walk even for thirty minutes not to talk of a distance with a time span of forty_five minutes,I was definitely going to die.
I remembered my first year in high school when a Senior had forced me to join the schools athletes,just because she said I looked like someone who could run,I got kicked out the next day because eventually an over weighted girl,if there's even a word like that, run pass me in the race and won,I had never been so ashamed in my life. After the race it took me hours of sleep to regain my strength,that should tell you how much I suck at anything sports related.
But you know what they say"talk is cheap",when it came to discussing football and other sports,especially football,I don't think you would like to cross my path. I mean been a Manchester fan and all. Even my brother's knew that when it came to football,hands down ,I was the one. None of them had ever argued with me over issues concerning  Manchester  and ever won.I will take you down in a glance.
I was startled out of my reverie when David budged into my room a second time since yesterday,looking around as if he had lost something.
"Can I help you"?, I asked him as he ignored me and still continued to search for whatever he was searching for,meanwhile smirking."who
a!,someone is surely not in a good mood !". He eyed me annoyingly,then I saw what he was looking for,he was taking money from my drawer,talk of the thief,so he was the one who has been pinching my savings, "David Kwesi Abban ",I screamed as he ran out pretending not to have heard me. God!,how much can I take,I mean they are so annoying.
The journey to Elikem's house wasn't such a bad one,maybe I might have exaggerated just a little tiny weeny bit.
I was rounding the corner,the path which leads straight to her house when I spotted Prince with his group of friends near the peace and love cafe. I quickened my steps not wanting a confrontation with those roudy boys.
I mean I don't have anything against him and his choice of friends but his friends just scared the life out of me.
I guess I was unlucky because Prince suddenly turned and saw me. "And hello to the most beautiful girl in the whole of chorker,Ghana and beyond ", he said as I rolled my eyes at him. All his idiotic friends were also watching us as he approached me. What do you want?, I asked him as he smiled,I frowned in return. "Now that is not a way of welcoming a friend ","at least welcome me with a hug or something ", he said as he tried to hug me,it happened in slow motion,in a moment he was reaching out with arms open wide ready for a hug,and in the next ,he was doubled over writhing in pain. Obviously I had kicked him in the place where the sun never shone." listen","the next time you want to prove to your friends that you can have your way with just any girl you come accross,do it to any regular girl but not me .I beg to leave and sorry for kicking you".
And with that,I left. I heard his friends laughter and the curses he muttered undertone.
Ten minutes later,Elikem and I were doubled over,laughing our hearts out as I told her  the sequence of issues concerning Prince and his friends.
"Girl am so proud of you",she said
as she hugged me.After,we went out to get ice cream while discussing petty issues as well as catching up on gossips.I mean hey!, don't judge me, am a girl.
Ater the ice cream,she escorted me home,that was one thing I liked about Eli,she would take me to the moon if it will please me.She was that kinda friend that you could talk to practically like forever without running out of things to say or do,I know am exaggerating again but I know you get the picture.
David ,the thief was out when I got home,mom said he was off to see Daniel his bestfriend.David and Daniel were like brothers ,they were always seen together to the extent that when we can't find David,we will go straight to Daniel's house and there he would be. The idiot.
Gabby and Amelia where home in the gaming room challenging each other to a game of truth and dare when we got home,weird right?,well thats my siblings for you.
The moment Elikem and I stepped into the gaming room and Gabby set his eyes on her,it was like the whole world just stopped for just the two of them.
Amelia and I felt the attraction between the two immediately,it was like something out of the movies where two people met and they went hugging each other in slow motion,except in this case it was my idiotic brother and my very idiotic bestfriend.
Amelia cleared her throat notifying them  that we were still around.Gabby completely embarrassed suddenly remembered he had something doing at that moment and fled the room in a hurry.
"Girl that was something ",Amelia said before she also left the room.
After,Elikem and I just stood there staring at each other.
"Eli,start talking,what just happened?",I asked as she looked at me. Some how fear and something else I couldn't recognize was written all over her face.
"I don't know", she blurted out .
I mean my brother just looked at her as if she was a goddess.I knew that look of Gabby,only a few people who were close to him knew that look ,and it meant adoration and come on ,I know am am not an expert in these things but I think am old enough to know when two people adore each other,Imagine the tension alone upon  seeing her,it was like someone just paid him to look at her,I felt the electricity in the air amd am sure Amelia felt it too,thats why she left in such a hurry.
I looked over at the girl I have called my bestfriend  for fifteen years and asked the ultimate question.
You are in love with him ain't you?.
For a moment,she did not respond and looked rather pathetic,then she told me the whole deal. Yes!she was. 
I felt like I was going to vomit, what?,,how?,I asked studiously,She stood there completely at sea as to how I was acting up.
Then we both burst out laughing,which was a relieve for me because I was beginning to think I was sick.
I was about to pick a cab for Elikem to go home home when Mom called us downstairs that supper was ready,we all scrambled downstairs with the exception of David who still hasn't returned from his bestfriend's place.
Dinner was jollof rice with fried chicken and a bowl of salad. I  helped myself to the food and really enjoyed it.Elikem on the other hand seemed shy,and kept playing with her food when I knew she might be hungry.
I decided to let it go.
Throughout supper,Gabby avoided my gaze and concentrated mainly on his  food and sometimes his feet.
I caught him stealing quick glances at Elikem.
Mom and Dad Oblivious to the silence and lack of communications between Gabby and I,went on arguing with each  other over who was the best player in console.Yes!,you read that,my mom and dad still play console,as well as subway
surf and zuma deluxe,so that should tell you the kind of family I have.
After dinner ,as we always do,my mom and I started packing the dishes to the kitchen for washing.This time ,Elikem offered to help so my Mom went upstairs with Dad while Elikem and I washed the dishes.
After,with a can of Orange  juice each in our  hands,we walked to the taxi rank closer to my place and picked a taxi for her.
I came back  to meet a full house,David was on the couch with his friend watching tele.
I mumbled a "hi" and left for my room. David asked if I wanted to join them in a game of football,I mean fifa,but I declined.I loved my ears and  would not want to damage it with the kind of things those two can talk about.
I dropped onto my bed as soon as
I entered and went under the covers.
I hit the play bottom on my stereo and sang along as Becca's African woman poured out of the speakers.
"Samantha,turn that down or I will come and do you the honours myself ",Gabby blurted out in a voice rich in sarcasm.
I turned up the volume even more just to annoy him.
As expected,he came up shortly after and bugged into my room,turned down the volume and turned to leave.
I waited for him get downstairs,then I hitched up the volume a high.
"What the hell", "Samantha Abban",he said before I heard quiet.Apparently,the idiot had decided to ignore me,so I turned down the volume and covered myself up.
