ITS A TWO WAY THING

Samantha's Pov:
It has been two months since our vacation,and school would be reopening in a weeks time,I for once was fully energized for the term ahead and I looked forward to seeing my friends again.
This vacation had thought me a while lot of lessons,one of them was to be appreciative,I got to know during this vacation that,no matter what you think you are going through,be thankful for someone does not have what you have.
The issues leading to  Adjetey's mom arrest thought me to be thankful for  what I had,and also know that no matter the situation one is in,there is always light at the end of a tunnel.
I climbed out of my bed as Gabby suddenly budged into my room,"Samantha, I need a favour ",he said as he looked at me fear evident in his eyes,what was this boy up to,I mean I have never seen him this worked and rilled up since he parted ways with his childhood best friend two years ago.
I looked up and beckoned him to go on,"I promised to take Elikem out on a lunch date this afternoon,but mom has gotten hold of my credit card and  she's monitoring my account like a hawk this past days just because she got hint that I bought a car and refused to take the one she offered me which is dead anyway","So you see,I can't afford anything now,help a brother,for I am broke".
He said all this in one breath as he looked at me with that puppy eye he does when he wants something from me,I sighed in frustration as I gave him my credit card,knowing I was going to regret but doing it anyway.
He ran to hug me as I struggled out of his grips because he was squishing me.
I managed to get out of his arms as he rushed out saying something along the lines of" you are the best little sis".
Well in case you are wondering what happened with timid Gabby,he finally managed to gather enough courage to tell Elikem how he really felt,yes,you heard me right,and they have been going out since then.
I am happy to say that they are really an adorable pair.
Today was a Wednesday and I was now getting out of bed after sleeping for over nine hours or more,I went  into my bathroom and cleaned up,after which I went down to the kitchen to find something to eat because I was starving,as expected,Mom and Dad had left for work earlier in the morning as it was now ten-thirty.
As I opened the drawer containing cereals and some other junk foods,David joined me in the kitchen and started complaining of how hungry he was and how he was gonna die if I didn't prepare something for h im to eat.
I rolled my eyes dramatically as he sat down clumsily on one the kitchen stools.
And that folks is a typical day in the house of the Abbans.
I went about gathering  ingredients to prepare one of my siblings favourite food,Jollof rice with fried chicken.
It took me half an hour to finally defrost,spice ,simmer and fry the chicken,and another thirty minutes to get the jollof on the gas,by then David was around the chicken,preparing to take a chunk,I swatted his hands away as he yelped in pain, "what was that for?",he asked as he angrily strolled out of the kitchen. Thirty_minutes later, I was huddled over a pan scrubbing away as David ate away,completely ignoring my complains about how difficult it was to wash dishes, he just sat there and ate as if he couldn't hear anyone talking, I sighed a frustrated sigh as just when I thought I was done washing the dishes, Gabby strolled into the kitchen, a plate of an almost finished jollof and chicken  in his hands.
I frowned as he tried feeding me ,making some of the food  fall on my white dress and staining it in the process,he looked up at me with fear evident in his eyes as he left the plate of half finished Jollof rice and dashed out of the kitchen screaming 'don't kill me please ',I rushed out after him but not after scooping a handful of jollof rice in my palm.
As expected, Gabby has extremely long and athletic legs, so catching up with him was impossible, so I did the only thing that got into my head, I budged into his room and took his favourite white shirt and stained it with the the rice in my palm, as I was on my way to the kitchen, I heard him screaming something along the lines of 'no,no,what have you done?',I  grinned wickedly in satisfaction as I went back to cleaning the pans.
Trust me I hate it when someone just soils my white stuff.
A few minutes after I was done with the kitchen duties, I went back into my room and called Elikem, bugging her to tell me all about the lunch date with Gabby, turned out they even kissed talk of second chances.
I said second chances because the first time Elikem allowed Gabby to kiss her, he messed up pretty bad, I mean I don't blame him.
So when Elikem gave him another chance ,you should just imagine the haste with which he took it.
To be frank this talk of my brother kissing someone was grossing me out so we switched topics to recent happenings in the vicinity turned out almost everyone knew about Adjetey's  family predicament, and how they moved from poverty to affluence in just a month.
We gossiped some more and then some more,and just a little tiny bit before I slept off leaving her on the line.
I mean I needed my rest.
I might have slept for long, maybe half the day because Mom's usual 'where are my favorite people in the world ',,woke me up.
Immediately, I got out of bed and run outside my room to meet her, I was pretty sure she had goodies for us.
Mom bought us goodies where ever she went to work, and then she will call out us as she did earlier on, the first person to come out to meet her, got the best goody.
Mom has been doing this since we were kids,and had continued to do this even though we like to think we are matured enough.
I know most of you might be embarrassed by this but we love our mom enough to endure it, knowing it made her happy to see us scrambling down the stairs and tripping each other just to get to her first.
As I said,I scrambled down the stairs in a hurry to get there first, turns out I was the last, talk of the 'first shall be the last'.
Mom stood at the edge of the stairs, laughing with my siblings because I looked funny in my cupcake pyjamas from nine years ago, I got angry and hurried back up the stairs to change.
Soon after,Dad came home and we had to prepare for evening church.
This time after bathing, I went to sit in my favourite place in the car even before anyone got ready.
I couldn't contain my laughter when I saw the priceless expression on gabby's face after he realised I got in the car before him.
He threw up his hands in fustration, as if wondering how I got in the car that fast.
'Well,I can be superwoman too you know',I mouthed to him all the while making faces at him as he went in the direction of Dad's car in annoyance.
I was still making faces at him long after he got in the car with Dad when Mom gave me a hard knock which sounded in the car.
David and Amelia burst out laughing as tears threatened to fall out of my eyes.
If you have ever been knocked unexpectedly or slapped whiles making fun of a friend or mate ,you understand the pain I felt at that moment.
It affected my mood the entire night,because I knew Gabby was now going to relish it and tease me after the service.
