(Y/N) wakes up. "That was the best sleep I ever had." She decided. With one quick sniff of the atmosphere, she had realised that her new room was nothing compared to her smell. "How longs it been?" She asked. She got up from the small matress, stretching her arms out her eyes falling on her notebook. "He's not that bad of a guy."

She slid open the door. Donnie's awake and so is Mikey. Mikey is in the kitchen flipping pancakes while Donnie is going between the kitchen and a large side room. (Y/N) follows, a bit curious to what Don could be doing with such oddly shaped bottles.
"Don? Was it?" She asked,
He's a bit shocked from her sudden presence, nearly spilling one of his liquids.
"P-Please," He lets out a breathe, "Donnie." He corrected.
"Oh- sorry. Umm... what is that?" She pointed at the large green glowing container.
"Well we'd tell ya, but then we'd have to kill ya." Raph says behind her smirking.
(Y/N) lets out a small shrill.
"Could you two get out... please." Donnie requested.
"Why not?" Raph set his hand on (Y/N)'s shoulder, escorting her out. "What's his problem?" He growled as soon as they were out of the room
"What was that?" (Y/N) insisted.
"That's just Donnie in the morning. He gets kind of cranky and-"
"No- that glowing thing."
"Oh, ya, you saw that huh. Welp," He walked her back into the kitchen.
"Mikey, (Y/N) here saw the mutagen. Would ya like to do the honors?" He joked.
Mikey beamed starry eyed. "Yea!" He exclaimed.
"Good luck." Raph muttered in her ear before escorting himself out.

Y'all know the story.

"So that glowing green stuff is mutagen... and it mutates." Her eyes went wide. "Mikey? How soon can I get out of here?"
"Well~ my brothers and Master Splinter are really keen on keeping you here. As Master Splinter says, "A tiger can't change its stripes." Or something like that."
(Y/N) nodded. She needed to leave before something happened to Jake. She had seen mutagen before, but never that glowing green color. But obviously she wasn't going to get anywhere with any of the turtles. Maybe Leo? She hadn't seen the blue masked turtle yet. "Excuse me Mikey." She said, peaking around in the rooms. It didn't take long for her to find Leonardo. He sat in a room with small bits of antique furniture. His back was to her, as he stayed on his knees.

Maybe I shouldn't bother him...

She shakes her head, knowing Mikey would be done with what ever concoction he was making for breakfast fairly soon. She slid open her door again, finally noticing the rug that hung from the ceiling. Her fingers ran along it, suddenly feeling it push inward. Walking to the other side, she flapped it upward seeing a small hole.

I could get out through there.

"(Y/N)!" She could here Mikey yelling. Her feet were already moving away from the wall, back to the small matress. "Breakfast's ready!" He said with a grin.

Everyone else sat at the table, already digging into the eggs and pancakes that Mikey had made. Except instead of just the turtles, two other humans had shown up. "Oh hi!" The red head said, getting up and immediately taking (Y/N)'s hand. "You must be (Y/N). I'm April!" Her smile was contagious, and she was awfully pretty. (Y/N) could immediately tell that she wasn't the only one who had realized that.
The darker haired boy was scrawny looking. "Doodet you stink!" He said, standing back a bit.
"Casey!" April slapped him in the back of the head. (Y/N) heald her arm. She hadn't had a shower in years.
"Dood you can't just say that!" Mikey exclaimed, "She's homeless!"
"Mikey!" Raph heald his shoulder tight.
"But she is!"
"Its okay!" (Y/N) said, laughing a bit. "I probably do stink."
Raph's eyes softened. How was she able to take such an insult so easily and act like it was nothing?
"You know (Y/N)" April interrupted, "If you want, you can come have a shower at my place."
(Y/N) smiled.
"Just don't let her get away!" Donnie exclaimed.
(Y/N) frowned. They ate breakfast, then April grabbed her hand and they went back up to the surface. (Y/N)'s eyes squinted up at the bright sky. "What time is it?" She asked, shielding her eyes with her arm.
"About 11am," April said. "Now tell me. Have they been treating you okay?" They continued walking. "I guess. I mean our first encounter wasn't that great but..."
"Yea... Donnie kind of filled me in on what happened with Raph. He can be a real pain sometimes."
"He's actually been the nicest to me. I don't know... maybe he just feels guilty..."

They reached April's apartment. "Welcome to my humble abode! Make yourself at home.
"Yep! I'll do just that and use your shower!"
April laughed, walking to a closet door and opening it. "Here's a towel. Feel free to use my shampoo and stuff."
"Thanks!"

The water trickled down her body.
"So (Y/N)?"
"Geez April you scared me!"
April continued from the other side of the curtain. "Where you from?"
"Uhh, you know, around."
"Around where?" She continued.
(Y/N) sighed. "South." She said. "Pennsylvania."
"Pennsylvania? Then why would you ever wanna come here?" April joked.

I didn't...

"You know... opportunity and stuff like that."
"Oh. I guess that makes sense." April sighed leaning against the counter. "I put some new clothes out here. They don't fit me anymore so you can have them."
"Thanks!" (Y/N) said. April left her to do her thing. (Y/N) looked at the clothes. A large plaid tank top and some basketball shorts. It obviously wasn't a cute outfit other anything, but it looked immensely comfortable.
(Y/N) sighed feeling the clothes on her skin. They were a bit big. It wasn't really a surprise. She was shorter than April and hadn't been getting the proper nutrition she needed lately. Plus puberty was way late due to that fact. "I look like a boy." She mouthed.

(Y/N) walked out of the bathroom.
"That outfit totally suits you (Y/N). It makes you look bad ass!"
(Y/N) looked down at the outfit oncemore. "Yea," she said, "I- really like it!"
"Great! Cause of some more clothes. Some of em I haven't even worn."
"Oh?"
April went into her closet, (Y/N) able to get a glimpse several pieces of jewelry and clothes with a large check mark on them. "Welp," April gathered it all into a bag. "I hope you like your new wardrobe.
"I really appreciate it April."

They walked back down to the sewer, grunts and groans echoing through the atmosphere. "What are they doing?"
"Training." April said, "It's pretty cool. Wanna see?"
"Sure."

They walked into the large room that Leo was in earlier.
"What are they-"
Raph did a full out flip, his legs coming out straight, sending his brother down.
"Well shit-"
Raph took a glance at (Y/N). "Ya like what you see?"
"Umm-"
"Gah!" Leonardo came back from behind, tackling Raph to the ground.
"And that's what happens when you get distracted." Leo said, laughing.
"Why I outta-"
"Yame(I really don't know if I spelled that right)!" Sensei called out.
All four lined up on their knees beside the two. "It seems (Y/N) has come to join us." Sensei let out a frustrated groan. "But that does not mean you get distracted during battle!" He looked straight at Raph.
"Hai... Sensei."
(Y/N) grimaced, knowing this was partially her fault.
Sensei sighed. "Now (Y/N),"
(Y/N)'s face froze not knowing if she was about to receive the same scolding.
"When you broke into that building-"

Oh crap.

"How did you do it. My sons have yet to learn this thing called stealth."
"We can be sneaky!" Mikey called out.
Sensei gave Mikey a warning glare. Mikey's bottom lip quivered. Sensei gave him a gentle smile.
"(Y/N), you were able to get past my sons. They didn't know you were in that building. How?"
"I- I..." (Y/N) tried remembering. It already seemed so long ago. "I didn't even know they were there. Later I found out they were on the rooftops but... all I did was sneak in through an air vent."
"See? That's the beauty of it that you need to learn." He looked back at the turtles. "It's simplicity."
(Y/N) grimaced. The four turtles did not look happy. "I'll be in my room."
