"Yes! Yes! Yes! A million times, Yes!" I squeal loudly. Happiness radiating from every part of me, at least until there was a banging at the door. "What?! Im busy reading!"

"Alice," Miranda's voice was hesitant. "Is it a bad time?"

"Oh no, not at all, Miranda," I got up and went to the door, unlocking it and opening it to face Miranda, who wasn't supposed to be here on a weekend.

"Do you have Mr. Sexy Bad Boy in there?" she winked, "Or is that book really exciting?"

I blushed, "That is so wrong, Miranda, your, like, in your 40's. And maybe."

"Ohhh," she pushed past me, into the room. She went straight to where Colt was and hugged him. "You better not hurt my baby."

"No, ma'am, I wouldn't hurt her," Colt smiled politely.

"Thank god, because you, my dear bad boy, have a record." she stepped back and came to hug me. "I got rid of ol' Tom, and I brought cookies!"

"Cookies?" Colt smiled a full out grin. "I'm game, come on, lead the way to the precious cookies."

Miranda smiled brightly, taking our hands and pulling us out if my room and down the grand staircase. "I also got you a present, Alice."

"What'd you get me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You'll see, oh dear, you'll just adore it!" he clapped her old hands together happily, reminding me of Chloe. Miranda never did this, only when the subject involved Chloe.

"Is Chloe here?" I asked suddenly.

"No, but I know she needs to have a friend who can be there for her at a moments notice, so I got you a... Cell phone!" She cheered.

I smiled, "How did you know that she was having a hard time?"

"Honey, Chloe has never been bluer, she was radiating sadness."

"Yea," I paused, "So where are the cookies?"

"In the kitchen, of course."

"Where'd Tom go?" Colt asked suspiciously.

"I sent him to a ball game, crazy ol' coot," she shook her head.

"What type of cookies do you have?"

"You ask a lot of questions, Colten," she laughed, "They're chocolate chip."

Colt hooted happily, wrapping a protective arm around my shoulders.

When we entered the kitchen, Colt pulled me straight to the counter and sat down, thus pulling me into his lap.

Miranda stood there for a moment and stared at us, a loving smile on her face. "You guys look so cute together."

I blushed brightly, ducking my head into Colt's warm, muscular chest. "Thanks," I mumbled.

Colt laughed, reaching around me and grabbing a cookie off the flowered plate.

I didn't reach for any cookies, I kept thinking about Chloe. How was she doing? Was she okay?

"So what did you do in school the last few days when I was gone?" I asked softly, listening to the steady beat of his heart.

"Not much, I mean it felt like a lot for me, but you'll be able to get it done." he ate the cookies one by one.

"Really? What did we do in math? Anything new?"

"Ali, I swear, we haven't even began a new chapter," he chuckles, the sound reverberating throughout his chest.

"Okay," I sighed, "Am I going to get a lot of homework when I get back though?"

"I'll admit it, you'll get a lot of homework, but it'll be easy for you to whiz right on through it." He paused, kissing my forehead. "Just enjoy your Saterday."

He made it sound so easy, to just relax and not worry. But there was always a continuous thought of the load of homework awaiting.

Later that afternoon, Colt realized I had a pool, and he immediately was wondering if we could go swimming.

"You don't even have a swimsuit," I pointed out.

"So? Were both mature, I'll just swim in my boxers." He shrugged like it was no big deal.

"But then what'll you wear after?" I was making an effort to make him switch his mind, but he wouldn't change it. I couldn't get him to.

"Its not like I always wear boxers, Ali, unlike girls, us guys don't always wear undies." he smirked at my facial expression. I was currently sitting on my bed, and Colt was looking through my draws and closet. "What? Don't you want me to see you in a swimsuit?"

"Colt, its just... I can't swim," I looked down. Before I knew it, Colt was cradling me in his arms.

"Its okay, Ali, I wont let you go, and if you want I can teach you how to swim."

I shook my head, I didn't want him to know my fear of swimming, I hated pools, I hated swimming.

"Please, for me? Ali, theres nothing to be afraid of, I'll be with you the entire way."

"Swear it?" I mumbled, looking up into his bright blue eyes that used to worry me. They now comforted me in a way no one else could.

"I swear, and if you want, we can invite Chloe," he suggested.

"No, she doesn't like to swim, she says it feels suffocating."

"Oh," he pushed back his bangs with one hand, "So, should I teach you to swim?"

"What if Tom comes back?" I fretted.

Colt leaned in, kissing me so softly it felt as though a butterfly was kissing me. I hugged him closer, deepening the kiss.

He was the one to pull back this time, "Nice try, Ali, but your not getting out of this one."

"Ah, come on!" I unentangled myself from him, flopping down on my bed. "I's rather make-out then swim."

"I would too, but this is something you need to learn."

"Colt, please, please don't make me do this," I begged, widening my eyes to imitate a puppy.

"Sorry, Ali, its for your own good." he smiled, patting my thigh affectionately.

So, reluctantly, I got out my bikini and shooed Colt from the room. He frowned.

"What if Tom catches me?" he teased.

"Then you better start running," I glared at him. He winced.

"Ouch, Ali, can I at least--"

"No, now go wait outside my door." I threw a sock at him. A dirty sock.

Colt left my room, knowing that I was upset with him, he waited until I was done changing to ask me a certain question.
