happiness is a lightbulb, shining only when it is turned on and waning when it is not.
often times, i find that holding it in your hand can either warm you with a smile, chill you with a shivering exterior, or burn you with a heated surface.
it is as if the light is warm when you are happy, boiling when you're overwhelmed by anger and frustration, and freezing when you're saddened and isolated.
for me, when you are happy, i am happy too because your happiness is mine, and, when you laugh, the bulb becomes warmer than before. but, it doesn't burn at the gentlest touch because your intention isn't to burn me from the inside out to the point where i cannot see nor breathe properly.
i don't know what your intentions are, i never will really, but you make me happy for now and that's all that matters clearly.
i just hope i make you happy too and that i haven't burned you after all i've done.
