I looked over at my clock, and saw it read 9:30pm.
Tomorrow I would return to the castle, and finally fix Nicole. It was bittersweet, I'd spent so much time on this android, it might be hard to let go.
I'd have to go back to my everyday job in the plaza, and who knows if I'd ever see Aaron or Katelyn again. I'd served my purpose, there would be no reason for them to keep me around after this.
Unless something else broke...
Maybe thinking I'd actually made friends was just wistful dreaming, but I wasn't ready to go back to my lonely life. I loved hanging out with Aaron, and building things with Katelyn, I didn't want to lose that.
I quickly realized how selfish that sounded, almost any girl in Falcon Claw would die to get to meet Aaron, and here I was, crying over the fact I might never see him again.
Aaron would soon be the ruler of the country, and every thought of me would soon be forgotten, that's how this worked. I did a service to my country by fixing Nicole, but now I would go back to being the robot mechanic in the plaza.
I was so lost in thought, I didn't notice the pounding on my door at first. When I realize someone was indeed knocking at my door, I ran to greet them.
Most visitor I get are customers picking up their items, and the occasional Katelyn, so wasn't sure who was at my door.
Defiantly not Prince Aaron.
Yet there he was, standing outside my apartment door.
"Aaron!", I squeaked, surprised at his sudden appearance, "W-What are you doing here!?"
He chuckled. "I wanted to see you, am I interrupting something"
I felt my face flush. "No no", I quickly said, "I just didn't expect you to come here, defiantly not at this hour"
He laughed nervously. "Sorry, it was the only time I could leave without anyone knowing"
"O-Oh", I responded, "I didn't think the future leader would've had to sneak out"
"I mean, I didn't have to, but I really didn't feel like being companied by a guard"
"That must be awful", I said, "Having someone always following you around"
He nodded, and put his hands in his coat pocket. That's when I realized he was really well dressed, with a black leather jacket, grey t-shirt, and jeans. Quite a change from the oversized hoodie I often saw him in.
That's when I realized what I was wearing, a long sleeved shirt, that had more holes then I had fingers. Not to mention my ever stylish pajama pants, to complete the outfit.
"So Aphmau", Aaron said, "I was wondering if you wanted to do something tonight?"
His words caught my by surprise. "L-Like what", I asked, trying not to sound dumb.
"I don't know", he responded, a light smirk on his lips, "Explore the night while its still young"
I smiled. "That's very poetic", I told him, "If this whole leader thing doesn't work out, you should consider a career in philosophy"
