I was on cloud nine to say the least.
If you had told the Aphmau from one month ago that she'd be kissing a prince in the near future, she would have laughed in your face. It was unbelievable and crazy, yet it was reality, an amazing reality.
Afterwards Aaron lead me back to my window, and I safely got back inside. From there I just laid in bed, starring at the ceiling for what seemed like hours. Thoughts raced through my head faster then I could comprehend them, like shooting stars disappearing into the night sky.
I somehow ended up drifting off to sleep, with all these thoughts still wide awake. For the first time in weeks I didn't have a nightmare, only a calming dream about a river, with a beautiful boy standing next to it.
When I finally did wake up, I wasn't sure what time it was. I usually had an old clock by my nightstand, but this new room was barren of that. I slid out of the ginormous bed, and walked over to the closet.
After throwing on a purple sweater and a pair of leggings, I walked out into the hallway to try and find the kitchen. The only problem with that was I had no idea where I was, or where I was going.
I started wandering the halls aimlessly, hoping to run into someone who could help me. Luckily for me, I did. Right as I was about to turn into the next hallway, a very familiar member of the kitchen staff ran into me.
"Aphmau~Senpai!", she squealed. "I was just about to come find you!"
"Oh, hi Kawaii~Chan", I responded. "Sorry I didn't realize someone was going to come get me"
She giggled. "Of course silly, do you really think we would just let you wander the halls with no direction?"
I laughed awkwardly, remembering how huge the castle was. "I guess not", I said, looking at the floor. "I was just hoping to find someone who knew where the heck they were going"
"Well you did", she said cheerfully. "Now come one, before breakfast gets cold"
She grabbed me by the arm and started leading my through hallway after hallway. It was like a maze and I knew I would never be able to memorize it all. Heck, it would be a test to even find a bathroom.
We finally arrived to a more familiar part of the castle, and Kawaii~Chan pulled me into the giant dining hall where various staff members were talking and eating a breakfast of pancakes and eggs.
And sitting at the head table, looking better then ever was Aaron. He was talking to Katelyn who was seated right next to him, and a piece of toast in his hand. As I got closer, I saw he had bags under his eyes -no doubt from the previous night- but his smile was brighter then ever.
It only grew bigger when his eyes landed on Kawaii~Chan and I. I had never been in love before, but I was positive I was. It was a new and foreign feeling, but not necessarily a bad one. It was a nice change from the loneliness that I usually felt.
"Hey sleeping beauty", Katelyn said, cutting her pancakes. "We thought for a second you had either died in your sleep, or was hopelessly lost in the castle"
I laughed. "Well I almost got lost", I told them. "But luckily I ran into Kawaii~Chan who lead me through the maze of hallways"
She smiled, and finally let go of my arm. "It was no problem Aphmau~Senpai", she responded. "I would hate for you to miss breakfast, especially since in was pancake day!"
I took my seat next to Aaron, and a plate of freshly cooked pancakes was placed in front of me. Pancakes was something my mom would always make on special occasions, so eating them here with Aaron and Katelyn made me feel extremely nostalgic.
