"W-what?!" What are you saying, Ruby?!
Ruby Rose tightened her grip on Weiss. "You said not to bottle it in... How I'm feeling..."
The sound of thunder cracking cut off any response that Weiss could have said. The old man walked onto the deck and waved his arms to get everyone's attention.
"An unexpected storm seems to be pulling in, so I'll be docking soon. Everyone please come inside for now." He said.Ruby looked up at Weiss. "I'm sorry... I'll just go..." She said to the heiress before running inside.
Weiss stood up. "Go where?!" She called, but Ruby was gone.
She ran in to look for her leader, but saw nothing in the crowd of people that were trying to avoid the rain that had begun to fall.
Where did she go?The ship docked and people began to flood out in hopes of escaping the storm. Weiss looked through the crowd, trying to find the girl with the red cape.
"RUBY!" She called, seeing her leader turn around just before running off in the opposite direction. The heiress ran after the girl, but had no hope of catching up to her, especially when the rain began to come down more. Weiss needed to find shelter, and a nearby cafe seemed to be the perfect place.
Running in the heard the end of a conversation between a man working at the cafe counter and... Roman Torchwick.
"I can't think of any way that a storm just shows up! Seriously, this is the last time I trust the news forecast." He said to the guy at the counter.Weiss cleared her throat, catching the criminals attention.
"Oh, Ice Queen? What are you doing here without your team?""Apparently apprehending you." Weiss responded.
Torchwick shrugged his shoulders. "I'll just get out, so it's fine. Could we wait until after the storm?" He asked.
Weiss just looked at him with an eye raised. "You're not going to fight?"
"I'm soaking wet, I'm cold, and I have not necessarily had a pleasant day. Neo stole my cane as some kind of sick joke, so I'm not really in a fighting mood."
"Really..? You're going to just... Let me arrest you?" Weiss questioned.
"Yup." Torchwick said, popping the P, then taking a sip of his drink. "Do you drink whisky?"
"Umm... No." Weiss answered.
Roman shrugged. "That's too bad, this stuff is pretty good." He said, patting the seat next to him. "Take a seat."
"Don't be offended, but I don't exactly trust sitting next to you of all people." Weiss said, sitting down with an empty seat between them.
Roman looked at Weiss a little closer. "Is something wrong, Ice Queen?"
"Well, some guy that's been drinking is bugging me and calling me stupid nicknames, so yeah." Weiss responded coldly.
Torchwick laughed. "That's fair, but I can tell that you're off your game. Did you not get enough sleep? Your little kitty friend run off again? Something happen with Little Red?"
At the third thing he said, Weiss looked down a little.
"Oh, so something did happen with Red? Why don't you tell Uncle Wicky what's up." He said, then cringed. "Don't call me that, it sounds really stupid out loud."Weiss chuckled. "It did sound pretty stupid."
"Hey, she can smile!" Torchwick cheered. "Lets get to work though. You can tell me what's going on."
"It's Ruby..."
"Yeah, already knew that. What happened?" He asked.
Weiss sighed. "She ran off when the storm started up, and I don't know where she is or if she's ok."
"And? Why'd she run away?"
You're so lucky I don't stab you. Weiss thought as she glared at Roman. "If you must know, it's because I upset her on accident."
"Not surprising. What'd you do?" He asked as he flagged for the guy at the counter. "Hey, can we get some sandwiches or something? Thanks."
Weiss looked away. "I... She felt a little differently on a topic than I did..." She whispered.
"What happened? She propose or something?" He joked, but then looked confused when Weiss seemed to get uncomfortable and looked down. "Wait... She didn't~"
"No, she didn't." Weiss cut him off. "She seems to be convinced that she... Likes me, or something of that sort."
Roman nodded with a smirk on his face. "So she actually did it. Good for her."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!" Weiss screamed in fury. "YOU ACT AS IF THIS ISN'T A SURPRISE!"
"It's not a surprise, Red told me that she was gonna try and tell you." He said nonchalantly.
"WHEN?! WHEN DOES A HUNTRESS HAVE TIME TO GO TALK TO A CRIMINAL ABOUT HER ROMANCE ISSUES?!"
"I do have a Scroll you know. I'm not dumb enough to talk with her in person, she'd arrest me." Torchwick said as he rolled his eyes.
Weiss glared at Roman, but then sighed and relaxed. "She felt more comfortable taking to you than me..?" She said, mostly to herself.
"Well, you did turn her down, didn't you?" He pointed out.
"That's not the point." Weiss snapped. "The point is that I am her partner and her friend, and you are a criminal."
"Maybe you should go talk to her?" Roman offered.
Weiss nodded a little. "I know I should, but I don't even know where she is..."
"Her mother's grave perhaps?"
Weiss glared at him. "I really do hate how much you know."
"Just go get her. I doubt she'll be there forever." Torchwick said.
Weiss took one final look at the man that called her leader Red, then she turned and walked out into the storm.
The guy at the counter turned to Roman and laughed a little. "She forgot to arrest you."
Torchwick chuckled. "Yeah, that was kinda the point of all that heartfelt crap. Hey, where's the sandwich I asked for..?"
