"You ask to much, madam," she giggled, pretending to drink a cup of tea, British style.
"Don't do that," I laughed some more, punching her arm playfully.
At this she laughed loudly, sounding like a squirrel hyped up on drugs. Which is actually kinda cute...
So along she pulled me, through the mall and past all the curious people that glanced at us. Well, more like they stared at Chloe and glanced at me. Chloe was like an angel, no she was an angel. With her golden curls, white shorts with a sequined white top, her flip flops were a hot pink and her nails were baby blue. Her skin was perfectly tanned, and she moved gracefully while I stumbled clumsily behind her. I wasn't really jealous of her. She deserved good looks, she was so sweet and caring but then also brave and fearless.
DSW seemed bigger then normal, of course though that was only because it wasn't as busy right now since it was later at night. The smell of new shoes assaulted my nostrils, this was a familiar smell, my mom had plenty of new shoes at home. Shoes that were celebrity worthy.
"Okay, Im thinking flats, no way would heels look good with that beautiful dress," she scanned the racks if show carefully, heading to my size and going through the shoes with care.
I nodded, agreeing with her.
"Black flats would be best, but orange or white would be okay," she grabbed the nearest black flats. They were bedazzled...
"No, not those," I cringed internally.
"Yea, your right, they would clash with the dress too much," her eyebrows furrowed in concentration, taking in all of the shoes.
I did too, taking a very good look at all of the shoes- at least the ones in my size.
"You sure you don't want heels? These would go good," she held up a pair light orange heels.
"Oh, god, not those feet killers," I groaned, "Just stick with the flats."
She wandered off while I sat down hopelessly in a nearby chair, only to hear a squeal of delight and then a different voice telling the squealer to keep quiet.
"Ali!" Chloe the squealer squealed, "I have found the perfect flats for you!"
I sighed, before getting up to meet her halfway. Shopping wasn't very... enthusiastic with me.
When she reached me, her grin became infectious. The flats were adorable, they were black with an light orange flower on each part that covered the toe.
"They're really cute, Chloe," I agreed.
She nodded, "Try them on."
I did, they were just my size.
"Ohmigod! We just have to get them! They match your dress perfectly!" She gushed, putting them in the shoe box and brought then up to the register, "Don't worry, I can cover these."
"You don't need to," I took out my wallet.
"No, no, no, Ali, its my treat."
"If you buy me ice cream then its a treat, but since this is shoes, I'll pay for them."
"Then I'll buy you ice cream, and then we'll get home, make dinner, and go through my closet for you date clothes."
I laughed, "Nothing too dressy, Chloe."
"Puh-lease, girl, nothing is 'too dressy'." she gave me a feigned look of offense.
I paid for the shoes, and off we went to the food court. Ice cream here we come!
