Newt Scamander Preferences

You were most definitely nervous now. Oh why had you agreed to go to dinner with the insanely gorgeous Newt Scamander? It was such a bad idea. What if something went wrong? It would be so awkward. What exciting evening and conversation could you offer to the intelligent male?Maybe you could just cancel. Yes, that would be a sensible decision.

Then there was a knock on the front door. It was too late! It would seem the dinner would have to go ahead.

You could feel your palms sweating as you opened the door, absolutely frozen with anxiousness. But when you saw him- oh yes, when you saw his lop-sided, warm smile, all of your fears were washed away. You took in his slick, expensive suit (no doubt Hugo Boss), his crisp, white shirt, smart, black shoes and perfectly coiffed hair. This man truly was perfection personified. "Hey," he grinned, his features soft, like he was happy to see you. "you ready?"

You finally remembered how to smile and function (bring in his presence was very bad for the brain.) You smiled back- normally you hoped- and closed the door behind you, ready for a night on the town with the luscious Newt Scamander.

Outside, he had parked his car a street away, due to the lack of spaces near your home. You and Newt-the elegantly dressed duo- walked side-by-side on the damp pavement. It had been raining earlier but luckily for them, it was not now.

Neither of you really knew what to say to one another, so the just kept meeting each other's gaze and smiling. Awkward indeed.

You hated awkward silences, you always had the urge to fill them. Fortunately so did he, who was quicker at thinking of something to say. "I'm so glad that you agreed to this date." he blushed a deep shade of pink, deeply embarrassed by his sudden confession.

"I'm glad that you asked." luckily for the Magizoologist, you found his little confession absolutely adorable.

Your reply made him laugh. It was probably the most beautiful sound you had ever heard- deep and velvety in tone. It made your knees feel extremely weak. If Newt at that moment had not wrapped an arm around your waist, you might have collapsed in a jelly-like heap at his feet. "I didn't sound pathetic just then, did I?"

"No, no," you quickly assured him. "it's really sweet. If I'm honest I've never had a man ask me out for a dinner before."

Relief flashed in his eyes before he stopped walking, drawing you close to him. A glimmer of mischief in his eye. He leaned in close, almost as if he was going to kiss you but then he whispered in your ear. "I'm glad because I always act stupid when in the presence of such a beautiful person." suddenly he pulled away, a huge smirk on his face.

Cocky sod, you inwardly imagined yourself rolling your eyes.

"Here's my car, let me open the door for you."
