The short cut (journey to the west).

There's a girl with her three brothers on a horse pondering on which road to take.
"Let's go that way,it's quicker", says one of the boys.
" I think we should go the way we are used to ",says another.
" the straight way is preferable ",says the last.
" don't be ridiculous,I am going the quicker way ",the first one says as he hit his horse and started moving.
" Jack no!!!",the girl shouted,but before she could finish shouting he and his horse sank in the sinking sand .
Then she woke up,and she knew what the dream meant.
She got up of the bed and looked for her younger brothers, and she found them outside playing. One of her brothers put an apple on his head and the other was about to shoot an arrow but when her brother shot the arrow, she catches it before it hits the apple.
"why did you do that,I was about to hit the target".
"does any of you intend to leave the house today?", the brothers thought maybe she wants to send them on an errand.
" no",said the one with the arrow.
by this time the other brother is eating the apple.
"don't eat the apple Gabriel".
" maybe not today,how about tomorrow? ",asked the girl.
" why?do you need us to leave, sis?",asked Gabriel.
"No I don't want you to leave, if you are not going any where I am glad", she leaves as the other brother puts another apple on Gabriel's head and went few meters back then shot,not knowing if it met the apple or not.
The girl was about to enter the house when she heard the sound of a horse she ran out and it was the youngest,her favorite. He got down from the horse and handed her a letter.
" sis,I got invited to an important banquet in the west".
"In the west", then she thought" the west is where he is going to, he is the one to go!".
"Sis,isn't that amazing?".
" no it's not ",said their brother who just came from the back,with the arrow still on his hand.
" this is an important banquet, lot of people will be there,politicians,kings, Queens, wealthy men and women come on sis,I need to go ",said the youngest.
" why don't you want him to go? ",asked the girl.
"Lily, he can go any where but not west", said the other brother.
" why,Jack?,"asked the youngest.
"Because Abel, you can leave the south to the north,east but not the west", said Jack.
" why?",asked Abel.
"That's just it,it is dangerous,you are not going to that banquet", commanded Jack.
At the sitting room
" sis do something,I can't miss this, this is a once in a life time opportunity ",said Abel.
Gabriel came in with a scroll.
" look what I found at the town square",he said as he opened up a scroll and read.
"Once upon a time the southerns had a conflict with the west so a great wizard put a barrier between the south and the west,from that day no one could leave the south to the west,but it was said that one day the chosen one will break the barrier and pass from the south to the west,maybe that would be you",said Gabriel.
"Do you think that,that scroll hasn't been there since?lot of people have tried to pass from the south to the west but none has returned because they all died. I wouldn't want you to join them", said Jack.
" how about we first go to the east,then from the east go to the west",suggested Abel.
"the blood of the south is all over you,the path will know that you are of the south and draw you to death", said Jack.
" sis,you are not listening to him right, I am going to that banquet ",said Abel.
" anyone asking a southerner to come to the west wants you to commit suicide, they may have it for you, they are not your friends ",said Jack.
" sis",said Abel.
But Lilly went into thoughts and remembered her dream.
"I think Jack's right, it's not safe", she said.
" what!I can't believe you join him",said Abel.
"This is not about joining who,this is about your safety, you are not going anywhere and that is final", she said.
In the evening
Abel and Gabriel played chess.
" and I hit your Knight, that's check mate",said Gabriel.
"Always winning, I can't remain here", said Abel.
" okey, if you are that sad,I will let you win on our next round ",said Gabriel.
" I am not talking about the game ",said Abel,then he got up and left .
Later in the night, Abel tried to escape but was caught by Lily.
" I am leaving whether you let me go or not ",he said.
They tried watching, applying so many preventive measures and covering where he first used to escape but he always found a new way after 5 days of trying to escape, one night he was almost gone but Jack saw him and ran after the horse and shot the horse with a sleeping drug and the horse fell then Jack got down and drew him by the hair.
The next morning
" we need to do some thing and we need to do it fast",said Lily.
"What do you think we should do?", asked Jack.
" we should let him go or he will finally escape some day and then he will still go ",said Lily.
" we can't let him go ",said Jack.
" yes we can but someone must go with him ",said Lily.
" OK,but who? ",he asked.
" I don't know? ",she said.
" why don't he just go by himself and die alone ",said Jack.
" don't talk like that Jack, no one is going to die,Gabriel will go with him ",said Lily.
" what, why don't you go",said Jack.
"I have to make sure this house is in order,I can't go", said Lily.
" neither can Gabriel ",said Jack .
" why?Gabriel is his other brother ",said Lily.
" are you even listening to yourself,Gabriel can't even take care of himself let alone someone else,Abel and Gabriel who behaves more mature? you will only be sending them on a suicide mission ",said Jack.
" then what do we do",said Lily.
"I will go instead, I will go with him", said Jack.
She remembered her dream.
" no,I wouldn't allow it,you can't go Jack ",said lily.
" either I go or he goes alone ",said Jack.
" maybe I will go ",said Lily.
" and if something happens and the villagers need your help,what would I tell them? ",said Jack because Lily is the only nurse in the town.
" but...",said Lily.
"Stay sis,I will go with him and I promise to do anything in my power to bring him back safely", he cut in.
" promise me that you will be safe",she said.
"I promise", he said.
" beware of the sinking sand ",she said.
" what? ",he Inquired.
Then Abel came in.
" you guys can not hold me here forever, my bags are packed, I am leaving ",said Abel.
" OK,I am coming with you ",said Jack.
" what,seriously? ",asked Abel.
" yeah,let's go",said Jack.
"Aren't you packing your bags?", asked Abel.
" do you think we are going on a field trip,we are going on a mission and in a mission all I need is my bow and arrow ",said Jack.
" can you shoot that?",asked Abel.
"You will see", said Jack.
" they say the fear of death makes someone do impossible things",said Lily.
Jack went to take his bow and arrow as Gabriel came to him.
"You want to play shoot the apple?", asked Gabriel.
" no Gabriel, I am leaving on a mission and I leave you in change of the house and our sister Lily,you are the man of the house now",he said.
"You are going to the west right?",asked Gabriel.
" yes",said Jack.
"Don't worry as long as you are going with the chosen one you will be safe,that's what is in the scroll", said Gabriel.
" you still believe that stuff about the chosen one and you think Abel is the chosen one, when will you grow up,Gabriel ",he said.
At the sitting room
" sis,I will miss you but don't worry, because I will be back soon",said Abel.
"That's my prayer", said Lily.
" sis,I will be back ",said Abel.
" Abel you didn't tell me you are leaving so soon? ",said Gabriel.
" I will miss you too Gabriel ",said Abel.
" I will miss you, Abel and I know you will get to west because though everyone thinks I am foolish I know you are the chosen one ",said Gabriel.
" you are not foolish and I am not the chosen one either but I will get to the west",said Abel.
"Let's go,Abel", said Jack as he came in.
" already ",Abel hugged Lily and went to Jack.
" take care of my little brother for me,Jack ",Gabriel said.
They left.
