Previously on Prologue

Then he brings me to the center where everyone is gathering.

"Welcome to the Glade, Y/N" everyone yelled in unison.

'This is it. Is this how I'm gonna end up. Stuck here in the Glade with at least 20 boys and I'm the only girl. Well... How bad can it be?' I thought.

-Bonfire Ceremony-

Y/N P.O.V

It's been a week for me to be in the Glade. All I could remember is my name and everything else is a blur. The other Glader is pretty welcoming to me. Especially Newt. Newt...

Just thinking about him make my heart flutter. Am I falling for him? It can't be, I just know him. Then again I remember about love at first sight. Maybe this is what this is. I'm falling for Newt for first sight.

I'm walking around the Glade to see everyone busy preparing I don't know what. But they say it's some kind of bonfire. For a welcoming ceremony of a new member of the Glade. I ask them if I could help but they refused saying I need to save my energy for tonight. So I just walk around to see something I could do. Which is nothing. Which made me bored. So I just went and sit next to a lake.

The sun is setting and even though we're surrounded by walls, it's still beautiful. I heard footstep behind me and I turn to see who it was. It's Newt.

"Hey Y/N" "hey" "so, whatcha doin?" "Nothing much, which is boring" he just chuckle. He went and sits next to me. "Don't worry, you'll have some fun tonight at the bonfire" "I hope so. What do you guys usually do, during the bonfire?" "Just wait and see" he answer. I just pout at him. I just stayed silent and I started to sing without noticing.

I kept singing and Newt just sat there in silent listening to me.

When I was done singing the whole song there was a soft clapping next to me. "Woah, Y/N you have.... You have an amazing voice!!" "Thanks, I guess" "you should sing during the bonfire" "ah no thank you" "why? A voice like yours has to be listen by many" I just look down.

Time-skip

It's night time and the bonfire is about to start. We are gathering around the bonfire. The keepers is holding a pole with fire at the end of it. Newt walk towards me and hand me one. "Here... You should do it, this bonfire is for you" the other look at us smiling. I took it from him "thanks" we gather around the pile of wood that soon will be on flame.

"Ready?!" Alby yelled to the others. We all yell out a 'yeah!' "On 3!" We raised the pole. "1... 2... 3!" We throw the pole and let it burn. "Woo!!!" We cheered. Then all the Gladers doing there own things. I just sit by a log to and watch everyone having their own things.

After I while I heard someone yelling my name. I turn to see Gally. "What's up, Gal?" "Come here and duel with me" "you want me to beat you again?" I taunt. "Yeah right you're just lucky that time" "well okay" I stood up and walk towards the circle created by the Glader. I step into the circle. "So? What's the rule?" "The only rule is for you to push me down" "that's it?" "Yup" "well okay then" I stood in fighting stance. "Ready? Go!" Alby gave the signal to start. I went to attack. Gally spread his arms out to catch me. I dug and went behind him.

I kick behind his knees causing him to loose balance and fall on his knees. I kick his back making him face plant, to finish of I sat on his back to make him unable to stand up. "Game over!" I say. I stood up and outstretched my hand for Gally to grab. He took it and I pull him up. I dust himself of and look at me "are you seriously a girl?" "Of course" "doesn't feel like it" he mumbled but I still hear it, I just laugh.

Newt came over to me and hug me. I blushed at the sudden contact. "You're amazing. Not only you can sing, but you can fight really well. You amaze me Y/N" "haha thanks Newt"

Alby came over "Newt, you said she could sing?" I look at Newt with pleading eyes for not telling anyone. He just smirk "oh yes, she sang really good. She sang to me by the lake" Alby turn to me "you should sing for us Y/N" "*whining sound* do I have to?" "Yes you have to. It's not fair only Newt gets to listen to your singing. "Ugh fine" I turn to Newt and mouthed "I hate you" he just laugh with his hands up in mock surrender.

I start singing.

And that's how the day ends with me singing several songs for my fellow Gladers. Even though we're stuck here and I'm the only girl, I'm happy...

'This is my home... And they're my family' I thought smiling.
