Abnormal (Newt X Reader)

Previously on Chapter 5

We all gather in front of the Maze entrance. Soon they come into view, but something is wrong Minho is dragging Alby who seems badly injured. They're not gonna make it the door is going to close. The next thing I know is Thomas running forward and I followed. Newt tried to stop us. The gate is closing fast. We finally when through and it closed.

'Well looks like I'm stuck in the maze.... Again'

-Night in The Maze-

Y/N P.O.V

Once the door close I just sit there trying to comprehend what had I done. I turn to Minho who's kneeling down on the ground breathing heavily. Minho turn to Thomas "good job, you just killed yourself" he said breathlessly. Then he turn to me with a mad expression "what were you thinking shank? You have a death wish or something" he yelled at me. "Hey! No need to get so mad, okay? I was just trying to help. Along with Thomas, even though I have to admit what we did was stupid" I huffed in the end.

I let Minho catch a breath for a bit before a I say it's time to get going. After a few more minutes I stood up. "Come on guys! We can't stay here. We have to get going before the Griever gets to us" Thomas walk forward to Alby to see there's a bruise on the side of his head "what happen to him?" He ask Minho. "What do you think, shank? He got stung. I do what I had to do" he reply sassily. Even though I can practically hear the sadness in his voice. "Alright it's no time for your sass. Our life is on the line as long as we're stuck in this stupid maze. Let's get going" I walk away. While the two carry Alby. "You guys need help for carrying Alby?" "No we got this" Thomas reply nicely, I just smile at him.

We came across a wall. "We can't keep carrying him with us. If the Griever found us it'll be hard to escape" I say. "She's right, Minho" "then what's your idea, shank?" Thomas look around and notice a wall with lots of ivy vines on them. "We could tie him up there and come back in the morning while we try to survive." "Good idea Thomas" I smile at him causing him to turn scarlet and I giggle. "Newt won't be happy if he knows this" I heard Minho mumbles. But I didn't hear it completely "what was that?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. "N-nothing..." "Okay" they start getting Alby up the wall. I want to help but they didn't allow it. Instead I just watch my surrounding.

Then we heard the sound of machine clicking on the ground. "Klunk! The Grievers here. We gotta go" Minho said panic. "No we can't leave Alby here. Just a little higher" Minho is still in panic. "Sorry guys" he say and took of running. Leaving Thomas with the weight. I went to help him. The clicking sound getting closer. We quickly hide under the gab of the wall. Thomas held me close, I can feel my face getting hotter with this and we hold our breathes. Once the Griever passed through we slip out of the gab and start running. I still have my archery with me. We run around the corner to be face to face with a Griever. It roar at us and start advancing.

Thomas and I split up. The Griever went after Thomas. But another Griever appear and chase after me. I kept running as fast as I could without looking back. As I turn around the corner I let out a curse under my breath "shuck, it's a dead end" I was about to turn around and run back but the Griever was already there. I hurriedly took out my bow and readied my arrow. I aim for the Griever as it advance towards me and wait for the right moment. When it's close enough for my shooting length I release it. But the arrow I release has a spark of fire. When it hit the griever. It burst into flame. "It happens again" I say out of shock. When the Griever is dead I took of running. Luckily this is the same maze section as I did last month so I know every turn.

After running I bumped into Minho and Thomas. "You guys... I'm so Glad you're still alive" then I notice a Griever chasing them I prepare for my archery there's no time for aiming so I just shoot. 'Shuck I missed' it's already too close for me to prepare other arrow so we took of running.

We came across a wall that's starting to close we run faster and manage to slip through. By me... I mean Minho and I. "Thomas! Are you crazy? Get away from there!" I yelled. "Come on! Come on!" Thomas taunt the Griever. And run through the closing wall. He manage to slip through the last second. we heard a scream. We turn to see the Griever got squeezed to dead. "That's disgusting" I say shuddering at the side of the griever's intestine.

The sky is getting brighter. Minho and I hug each other "we made it! I can't believe we made it" I say happily. I pull away and hug Thomas too. Then we run back towards the Glade. When we reach there I can see a familiar boy running towards me and pull me into a tight hug. Newt.

"I thought I l-lost y-you, Y/N. What were you thinking r-running of like that?" My shirt getting wet not from sweat but from tears. Newt is crying. I hug him back. "Shh. It's okay... I'm okay.... I'm here" once he calmed down he pulled away only to pick me up bridal style "w-what are you d-doing, Newt?" "You're tired. I thought it'll be best if I carry you instead" he smile looking at me. I feel my face getting hotter. I just lean my face to his chest hoping I could hide my blush. Newt just chuckle. He laid me in the Med-jack room. He kneels beside me and held my hand. "Get some sleep now, Y/N"he said softly. I smile and close my eyes ready to have my deserved sleep. Just as I was about to fully sleep, I felt someone place a soft kiss on my forehead and a Whisper. Then I fall completely to sleep.

"I love you, Y/N" said the voice.
