Chapter Seventeen

Start from the beginning

"Because," he paused, raking his hands threw his hair, "Because I owe this guy."

"I feel like your leaving something out," I crossed my arms and stared up at him.

He sighed, using his hand to brush a stray piece of hair from my face, "Ill explain everything later, I promise, just keep an open mind, please."

I nodded, my will melting completely at his stressed words, "How long will it take?"

"Honestly? I don't know, but Ill be the one to drive you home," he said, absolutely sure of his words.

"Okay," I sighed, he leaned down and kissed me lightly before turning around and leaving me alone.

For a little while, I sat by myself but then I realized that he was obviously going to be longer then suspected, so I headed out in search of Chloe.

Soon I found Chloe, who was swaying to a song with Steven, both of them lost to the world, then Chloe caught sight of me. She broke away from her date, but held his hand still as she pulled him over to me.

"Alice? Wheres Colten?" her voice was tinged with worry.

I gave a small worried smile, "I dunno, he had to go talk with this one guy."

"He left you alone?" her eyes flung around the room, even though she'd never be able to see him with all these people.

"Only for a little bit, its okay Chloe," I insisted, "Im going to go make some friends, Ill find ya later."

"That bastard!" her eyes were wild, "Doesn't he know that someone could just snatch you up and you wouldn't know what to do?!"

"What do you mean, Chloe?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I mean some random guy could rape you or something, he's such an imbecile!" she raged, pulling me into a hug, her date watched with wide eyes, but remained silent. Smart boy.

"Chloe, people are starting to look at us," I blushed.

"I don't care what they think, I don't want you to be alone."

"Ill be fine, Chloe," I patted her back, she let me go.

"Im going to stay with you," she smiled at her date, "Right, Steven?"

"Right, Chloe," he smiled back, his blonde hair was gelled back and his brown eyes seemed bright.

"No, no, no, its okay, Ill be fine, I need to use the bathroom anyways."

"Ill come with you," Chloe pipped.

"Nah, Im just feeling a little crampy," I hinted, even though I actually wasn't.

"Oh, do you need..." she silently said the words.

I shook my head, "No, I have some."

She nodded, glancing at her date, before looking back at me, "You better not run off and get yourself killed."

I rolled my eyes, "Yea, thats exactly what Im doing,"I sarcastically replied, "Bye."

"See ya," she waved, before going back to dancing with Steven.

I weaved my way out of the gym, heading for the darkened hallway. This wasn't my best idea, but I had to find out where Colt was. He'd left through these doors, but there were tons of hallways he could've gone down, not to mention the amount of rooms.

Fear made it top priority to nestle itself deep in my stomach and head, never letting me miss a single sound. My flats made little noise along the tiled halls, which made everything that much worse. I was alone in a dark hallway, this was something out of a horror movie, except I wouldn't hesitate to get my ass in gear and head for the hills.

I listened carefully, trying to catch any sound of someone talking. Nothing, a buzzing sound filled my ears, the sound that happens when its too quiet.

Then, out of no where, footsteps sounded, I froze in my footsteps. Please don't be a serial killer, please be a teacher or Colten.

I stood immobile, even if I could move, my legs wouldn't allow it, I was scared stiff.

At the end of the hallway, a dark figure stood before walking towards me, I tucked myself into the crook in the wall. Please be Colten, please be Colten, please be Colten.

The figure was tall, thats what I knew, and male. Very male.

"What are you doing out here? Why are you wandering the hallways?" Mr. Solons's voice boomed, I let out a sigh of relief.

"Sorry, Mr. Solons, I got lost on my way to the bathroom," I gave a nervous chuckle, unable to control the amount of relief that was billowing through me.

As I turned to go, A hand connected with my elbow.

"Where do you think your going, Miss Mae?" his deep voice questioned. I stiffened, fear replanting itself.

"Let go of me," my voice was ice brittle, fear shimmed itself up and down my spine.

"I don't think so Miss Mae, you've always been my favorite student, you know that?"

The way he phrased it sent shivers down my spine, I slapped his hand away, my voice quivering as I forced myself to say, "Please don't hurt me."

Why cant a serial killer come and get this creep teacher away?! Panic set in, I unfroze and backed away from Mr. Solons.

"Your not going anywhere, Alice, your mine for the night," the young teacher's voice echoed along the hall. I whimpered, unsure what to do, so I ran.
