Chapter 10

I shook my head as I gaped at him in disbelief. Star soccer player, chick-magnet and crazy deranged serial killer - has a secret obsession with One Direction.

"Everyone else in the room can see it. Everyone else but yo-ou."

"BABY YOU LIGHT UP MY WORLD LIKE NO BODY ELSE," I chimed in. "THE WAY THAT YOU FLIP YOUR HAIR GETS ME OVERWHELMED. THE WAY YOU SMILE AT THE GROUND IT AIN'T HARD TO TELL."

"YOU DON'T KNO-O-OW," we sung together. "YOU DON'T KNOW YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. O O-OH. THAT'S WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL."

We fell back into our seats laughing until our stomachs ached.

The bus pulled up in front of my house not long after. Once I would leave, Xavier would be the only student left on the bus.

"Alright, bye," I said scooting out of the seat.

"Bye, princess," he replied. I stuck my middle finger back up at him which caused him to laugh.

I watched the bus drive off and went straight into the house. Jasper was still at work so I decided to clean up a bit. (After ensuring that all the windows and doors were locked. You can never be too careful.) I pulled out the Michael Jackson Thriller vinyl and turned the volume up so I could feel each decibel vibrate through my body.

After three hours when day turned into dawn, Jasper came home.

"Helloomygodwhathappenedtoyou?" The look of shock was plastered on his face.

His eyes danced up and down my body.

"Just got into a little fight at school, no biggie." I shrugged.

"Did you hit him back?" He asked.

"My friend hit her back."

"Julia?"

"No. My new friend Taylor."

"Oh, okay." He tapped his hands on the kitchen counter, making a tune. "So, what happened?"

I told him how she came onto me and how it was all over a guy. Then I told him how she got suspended.

"Wow. Who was this chick?"

"Kylie."

"The mayors daughter?" I nodded. "Well she deserves whatever she got given to her."

"Amen."

We ended up ordering pizza and watched a horror movie that I forgot the name of.

"I have the results for the NSC!" Miss Mulberry said walking into the class, causing us so to sit at the edge of our seats.

"Do you think we'll win?" Xavier whispered in my ear.

"Nope. It's gonna be Louise and Alex for sure."

As much as we need that money, I don't think we'll stand a chance.

"Let's congratulate Xavier and Audrey as our class' representatives!"

My eyes widened and my stomach dropped. I pinched myself on the arm, hoping that this wasn't a dream. Yep, sure wasn't. Xavier was already halfway to the front of the class, even though she didn't ask us to.

I stood up slowly and awkwardly walked to the front of the class.

The class cheered louder and my eyes connected with Alex's. He was clapping and smiling while Louise looked a bit upset.
