Barry's POV
Everything was perfect. I had everyone and everything I ever wanted in my life. Though it feels tough to leave everything, including my team flash, on my old earth, I was happy to be starting a new life. A life I could spend with Kara yet visit my earth whenever I needed to. Correction, whenever we needed to.
Joe walked up to me and Kara as the reception was ending. He was teary-eyed with his arms wide open. We both went in for the hug.
"Now I know you have a family on your earth Kara, but we are your family here. All the west family. And that means you too." He choked out his words.
"Thank you" she whispered quietly in his ear.
"Before you leave, you should both drop by for dinner. I mean that is if you would like" Iris piped up from behind
"Yeah sure. We'd love to. We were going to leave Thursday morning so does Wednesday work?" I asked.
"The day after tomorrow? Sure. See you then. And congrats, you make a beautiful bride Kara" Iris said as she was dragged away by Wally.
We continued to greet guests as they shared congratulations. The day was so surreal yet I didn't want it to end.
As we took the limo back to the apartment, I could see in Kara's eyes how tired she was. So I decided to stay quiet and let her drift off into a peaceful nap on our hour long drive back to the city.
Thanks to the apartment building, a man came to help with the gifts we had piled in the trunk, so I took Kara in my arms and walked up the stairs. Thankfully, 25 flights felt more like 5 due to my speed.
"Wh-Barry?" Kara moaned.
"Shh- we're almost back"
"Back where?" She asked
"Our apartment." I spoke softly.
"Ohhh" She said closing her eyes again. When I sat her down, I speedily changed her into pyjamas and tucked her in. Awaiting the delivery guy, I checked my phone.
3:04 am. There was a soft knock on the door.
"My apologies sir, I had to make multiple trips as the elevators are user maintenance. Here are your packages." The man said, about to leave.
"Hold on!" I softly shouted. "Thank you." I put two 50 dollar bills in his hand.
"This is too much..." The man started to try and back his way out of it.
"No. I insist. Because you insisted on carrying up all those wedding gifts. So thank you. Please take the money." I said
"Thank you sir. Have a good evening" He walked away as I closed the door.
I hopped into bed with Kara. It was peaceful.
~ The next day ~
"Barry..." I heard my name being called.
"Wha?" I groaned. "Let me sleep! JOE" I moaned again
"Well Caitlin told me to tell you that since I am not Joe West, you have to get up. Because if not, I will open a breach and throw you onto a random earth. Hopefully the one where we are all evil" Kara spoke into my ear.
"IM UP!" I shouted
"Pancakes. Eat" She said handing me a plate stacked with them.
We packed for the journey and prepped for the long and sad day of wishing goodbyes.
"Hey. Do you wanna work West to East since Joe lives in the east end?" Kara asked.
"Whatever you want. I just want to spend the rest of my life with you" I said leaning on her.
"You're hungover aren't you?" She then persisted to ask
"Speedsters can't get hungover" I confessed
"Sure..." Kara went along with my thought process. "Lets head to star labs. Your friends probably want to say goodbye."
I nodded my head as we went on.
First stopping at star labs, I turned the corner to see everyone huddled next to a box.
"Hey!" I said walking in. "What's with the huddling..." My mood immediately shifted to curious.
"Nothing. We just really want I say goodbye, cause you might not jump back here for a while and it won't be the same." Cisco said tearing up.
"He's hungover. Big time, and he always cries when he is" Caitlin whispered into mine and Kara's ears.
As we wasted more time talking with Cisco, Caitlin, Jesse, Wells and Wally, we came to realize how long we had spent here.
"Um guys, hate to break it to you but we should be leaving cause we have lots of people to see" I spoke up.
We were embraced in a huge group hug.
"Stay safe. Visit often. And enjoy why this new chapter if life is bringing you" Caitlin said handing me and Kara a box.
"She's right dude, but don't leave me hanging. Come back soon ?" Cisco asked
"Wouldn't miss it" I said as we hugged. It was the best hug I have gotten from him. I would surely miss this.
He handed us each a box too.
As did Wally and Jesse, wen we made it to Wells, he had a smirk on.
The large box was handed to the both of us.
"Take care over there. And were only a breach away if something goes drastically wrong" He said
"Noted!" Kara added.
We smiled. "Thank you guys!" Kara said
"See you soon" I added as we walked out, waving goodbye.
I had said my goodbyes to everyone who didnt live in central city the night I the wedding as we would never make enough time to get to star city and back, let alone the Waverider (where ever in Time and space it may be)
After visiting everyone else, we then made our way to the West household. Kara knocked three times. I had our suitcases in hand.
Joe opened it. His face had a blank expression on it.
"Come in" He spoke softly.
I looked at him. He seemed to look normal, but I never once saw him with a stare that blank. And then, blackness surrounded the majority of our vision. But in my peripherals, the blue of a breach shone.
Thump! I was hit with a suitcase.
I looked around. I was caught in a glass cell. Kara was right across from me.
She tried to use her x-ray vision to see but it was lined in lead.
She then pointed to a sign, 'Earth 38 alien and meta prison. Under strict surveillance at all times.'
I motioned to Kara to turn around. On our walls, the exact same thing had been written.
"YOU'VE BEEN GONE TOO LONG."
