I looked over at Clara and noticed that she was glancing at Andrew the same way I had looked at Justin just a few minutes before. Those two were absolutely adorable.
Andrew and Clara had already picked up their trays and were on their way out the door when Justin grabbed my hand with his free one and we carried out trays over to the garbage can and dishes area. He continued to grip my hand tightly as he dragged me out to the hallway behind the kitchen.
He looked around and while still holding onto one of my hands Justin leaned forward and planted a hard, fast kiss on my lips. It took me completely by surprise but I enjoyed it. He walked off, his hand lingering with mine as he walked away.
"See you at dinner."
I tasted the salty taste that it left on my lips and sighed, sinking to the floor, hugging my knees to my chest. There was nothing to do now but wait until I was called back into the medical bay, but I would honestly rather do nothing.
I made my way slowly back to my dorm room and laid down on my bed, a cacophony of thoughts racing through my mind.

I ended up only having to go back to the medical bay once a day for a urine sample or to test my blood pressure, things like that. It was still incredibly rough, so by the time Thursday rolled around I was not at all in the best of moods. I was not at all looking forward to the date that I had accepted with Malaki. The only thing that kept me from backing out was that Andrew and Clara were going as a couple, so they were expecting me.
I met Malaki at the end of the hall dressed in my usual outfit, except I decided to wear some jeans that weren't completely ripped up. I might as well make an effort. The half a liter of Dr. Pepper that I had chugged twenty minutes ago was bubbling in my stomach, along with the butterflies. I would probably need the caffeine boost after all, to keep me from strangling someone, cough Malaki cough.
We walked awkwardly towards the common area that the date night was held in. Malaki walked with a confidence that made others stare. It just made me more annoyed by him. He is attractive, but then Justin's bright blue eyes and strong arms came back to my mind.
Malaki opened the door for me and I walked in to see Clara and Andrew already snuggled up next to each other on a tan beanbag. There was a blue sofa situated next to them that I gladly sat down in, Malaki popping right next to me.
The host of the date night came out, it was one of the older couples, probably still in the "honeymoon" phase. They were unrealistically happy and kind of made me want to gag, but then I remembered Justin. I looked back over at Malaki and realized the situation. Oh well, I just get through tonight.
"Alright people! Tonight we are doing some minute-to-win-it games!" The boy, whose name tag read Byron expected some applause or something from everyone so we all slowly clapped our hands, and I heard a few small cheers from a couple other couples.
Great. Minute-to-win-it games. A good way to humiliate yourself in front of others all for the sake of being able to gloat. Bring it on.
"We'll start with some cup stacking!" The girl, Katy, from her nametag, exclaimed. This ensued another round of polite applause and miniscule cheers. "Couples will work together and compete for the fastest time. We have about ten stacks of thirty six cups, so it should make a complete pyramid. You will be timed and the winner receives a prize! No powers, go ahead and get started!"
I honestly could care less, but as I watched Andrew and Clara concentrate on their cup stacking I realized how much they liked each other.
"Come on, come on, come on..." Clara kept chanting, her hands moving fast with the cups, stacking them from one side as Andrew did the other. Their hands brushed each other's as they reached the top and they made eye contact, but quickly finished the tower, topping off the stack with their last cup. Their time wasn't the best, and neither was Malaki and mine, but I didn't really care. I was having enough fun just watching those two flirt with each other.
