ACE (Jeff X Reader) ~The Death Card
(>Д<)ゝ"
There was a puddle of red, warm, gooey liquid, spreading to the floor quicker each second. The clown's eyes grew wide as he felt everything in slow motion. The girl collapsing to the clown, heavily breathing, while blood oozed out of her left leg.
She was staring up at him, her look confused, which slowly shifted, scared eyes gleaming into his. He dashed towards her, cradled her into his arms, her blinks more slower each time, as if they were going to close forever.
Her skin was pale white, and her breaths were shallower by the second. The clown quickly glanced towards the exit, the light in all it's glory.
And all he had to do was walk into it.
He glanced back up at the girl, her eyes closed.
The clown thought she wasn't breathing anymore, but he wasn't sure. Not giving hope, he kept praying towards the lord, as he swiftly picked up the girl and dashed into the light.
Cradled in the clown's arms, the girl's body felt weak, as she slumped against the clown's chest. Snuggling close to him, surprisingly, she felt very warm. Through her closed eyes, the light was seeping into her eyelids.
'So this is what Death feels like..' She thought.
"Y/N.. Don't give up, we're almost there, okay? Hang on a little tighter.." The clown's voice slurred in her eardrums.
The girl tried.
She kept holding onto the edge of the bouncing platform, like before. She didn't want to fall into the bottomless pit again.
'I can't slip this time..' The girl prayed in her thoughts.
The clown rumaged into his back pocket, while holding the girl with his other arm, and quickly dialed a number, it went ringing, while he held the phone, in case of emergencies like this, under his chin.
"C'mon.. Pick up.. Jesus christ.." He mumbled, rushing towards the exit.
He skidded to a halt when he realized.
There was no exit. The clown's eyes darted back and forth wildly.
What the heck was going on?On the other hand, the phone was picked up, the voice echoing into the clown's ears.
"Hello?""Jesus christ, Jeff!" The clown shouted over the phone.
"Woah, chill dude."
"Get us out of here." The clown said calmly, glancing briefly at the girl. Now that he had looked closely, she was in bad shape. Her leg seemed half torn, and he could see the flesh being torn, blood seeping out and dripping to the ground, creating a small puddle.
Silence filled the phone.
Finally, the clown lost his patience."Get us out of here!" He shrieked into the phone.
"Why?!" He heard Jeff shriek back into the other end of the phone.
"It's Y/N.." He mumbled.
Jeff's tone immediately changed, into a softer tone. "What do you mean?"
"Get us out of here.." The clown pleaded gently. "She's hurt."
The clown didn't hear anything after that, only the sound of Jeff's heavy breathing, before hanging up, the eerie sound ringing in his ear.
He ripped the phone from his ear, and threw it across the room, settling the girl gently onto the ground. He glanced at the fluffy fabric he was wearing and ripped it off with his sharp teeth, using it as a bandage to hold the girl's blood together.
However, the fabric that sealed the girl's leg together, in a few moments, the fabric seeped blood as well, leaking out.
The clown cursed under his breath, messing up his hair, frustated.
"Shit."-'-
The clown's words kept echoing across Jeff's empty mind. He felt as if he dropped to the ground, but as he looked down. He was standing. He felt like the world was completely silent. He couldn't hear anything, or feel anything.
So he just ran.
Running with all his might, he could feel tears stinging against the back of his eye as he sprinted towards the house. Each minute it took to get to the house, he felt as if the girl was dying inside each time. He felt like everything was his fault, and if the girl couldn't forgive me, neither could he forgive himself.
Finally, what felt like took ages, he finally reached the house. The door was coming in-sight, and he didn't even bother, using his sholder and running with all his body, ramming and colliding into the door.
The door knocked down, and he could see Smile, lying underneath the table, surprised. He glanced quickly around before dashing towards the dark room where LJ would take the girl to his games.
Inside, a light blue screen lit up, which to BEN's help, was programmed by himself. His eyes darted wildly, his gaze suddenly blurring for no apparent reason. He stumbled and hit his back against the wall, before stumbling over, and slamming his fist into the big red button that said: 'CANCEL.' in all caps.
And then the light blue screen disappeared.
Exhausted, Jeff felt like he could collapse at any moment, but he had to see the girl. He missed her more than ever, the hunger of it tearing his heart apart each second. For the first few moments, all he could hear was the heavy pants coming from him.
Smile appeared behind the corner, in his original human form, eyes staring wide ahead.
Whisps of smoke surrounded the room, and Jeff looked up to see the clown, his sleeve which he used to keep so clean and fluffy with feathers, was now half torn and drenched in blood. His eyes had no fun gleam in them anymore, they looked tired. Glancing down, he saw the horrific sight of the pale girl cradled in the clown's arms.
What made Jeff stand still, was the bright red frabic from the clown's sleeve that was holding the girl's leg together, flesh already tearing apart, and blood dripping down onto the floor.
"Smile.." He whispered, not turning around, his wide eyes still staring at the unconcious girl. "Take her and call EJ."
Smile didn't answer, he just stood still there.
"Smile!"
Smile snapped out of his thoughts, quickly lifting the girl from the clown's arms and hoisting her into his arms instead, though his body was much smaller, he kept sprinting until he rounded the corner, and disappeared.
Jeff and the clown were left alone together, in the dark cold room, avoiding each other's sight, not saying anything.
Finally, the clown spoke up. "I hate you sometimes."
Jeff turned around, walking slowly until he reached the door. He turned his head slightly, but not all the way.
"It's okay," he assured the clown, sighing.
"I hate me too."
