As soon as Kieran had left the scene, that was when Dr Kozak sighed gravely as he watched Kieran walk out and slam the door.

"Wow... you really hate Kieran don't you?"

Dr Kozak didn't say anything- he just muffled something unknown as a response, if that counted as one anyway.

"Hate is a very strong word, Cynthia," he whispered back, once again using scissors to cut his nails instead of a nail clipper like a normal person would.

Except Dr Kozak wasn't normal. He was crazy. That was the thing.

"So...." Cynthia trailed off. "You don't hate Kieran."

Dr Kozak shook his head.

"I wouldn't say hate."

Cynthia Rose didn't reply.

"I would say I dislike him."

"Strongly dislike him."

Cynthia Rose was downright confused.

Cynthia Rose: Strongly disliking someone and hating someone are technically the same things, sir.

Dr Kozak just shrugged as he choked on orange juice, regurgitating it but then threw up.

Cynthia: Ooh wish I could un see that.

Dr Kozak: Yeah same. Either way Kieran and I aren't talking to each other. End of story.

Cynthia: So you're not friends?

Dr Kozak did a facepalm in disbelief.

Dr Kozak: No!

Cynthia: You're enemies?

Dr Kozak paused for a while before saying anything else.

Dr Kozak: We're not enemies either.

Cynthia: So what are you then? Frenemies?

Dr Kozak: Uh. No. Not frenemies either. Kieran classified our relationship as "acquaintances".

Cynthia: Did Kieran really kill your niece?

Dr Kozak just took a quick glance at her. He wasn't smiling. He wasn't frowning either. Was just emotionlessly examining her face.

Dr Kozak: Yes. And he said some very malevolent stuff about me earlier as well.

Cynthia: Listen.

Except Dr Kozak wasn't listening. Was just drumming his fingers on the table in absolute boredom.

Cynthia: Why do you care so much about what Kieran says about you?

Dr Kozak intently fixed his eyes on her in surprise.
