Bertha was still angry over Nathalie, Lexus face was rearranged, and Mercedes was probably thinking evil things while I just sat around being the Innocent little brother I am supposed to be. All I wanted was for dad to be happy which he was but he did not see this other side of his fiancé. I had not seen him in a long time and I didn't want to lose him so no matter what happened, we had to be good for Dad. I decided to just sit back and relaxed. Noticing the hurt and anger Bertha was experiencing over her dead friend, Mercedes wanted to make Bertha happy. After a while, she told Bertha to put on her clothes and they went to the mall to shop. Not wanting to be a third wheel, I insisted on staying home. Dad still had Ty'quann. He loved him. It was awkward not having the two of them around, but at least it was peaceful. I started to read a book called Slam by Walter Dean Myers when Lexus came in. she had a vicious look on her face. I ignored her. I felt a tug. She was pulling on my shirt.
"Let's go now!" she said.
I thought about dad and got up. She tied up my eyes with a shirt so I wouldn't see anything. Soon, she told me to stop. I didn't know where I was. This house was too big! I could've been anywhere. After a while, my nose starting aching and i realized wherever Lexus brought me, was dusty and stink.
"Clean up!!!" She said and left after removing the cloth from my eyes.
I heard a lock behind me.
I looked around me. I was in the basement I guess. I started to clean. There were spider webs, mice that were scurrying across the room, and boxes of stuff. I tripped on something and fell. I ignored the blood gushing out of my knee and continued cleaning. After two hours, I looked around and I had many more to go. Where were my sisters? I wondered. I was scared. My feet were dirty and I was so hungry to the point that I had worms in my stomach. I tried really hard not to think of fried chicken, potatoes, gravy.... My stomach growled. I was mentally and physically exhausted. I was almost finished when Lexus came in.
"Hurry up and go to your room!! And don't you dare tell your sisters about it!" she warned and pushed me out.
I guessed my sisters were finally home. I went up to my room and closed the door behind me.
