I guess I was better now after all that shopping. Mercedes made me smile the whole time and really made my day. It felt good to know that there was someone who loved and cared about me. When we made it back to Lexus house, I groaned. It was like visiting hell with no say. Her home was surely a place I would never call home with her in it.
"Hey Booger" I heard Mercedes say as she laid Michaela on the bed.
"Oh hey" Booger replied, avoiding eye contact. He appeared to be reading a book, but not actually reading it.
I knew he was hiding something.
Mercedes didn't notice, but I did.
