THE SCHOOL KNEW THE DRILL LIKE THE BACK OF THEIR HAND.

in very few minutes, the gymnasium was full of students all in the same position. the guys were closer to the wall in rows, while the girls were behind them since they have skirts on.

since everyone was in tornado position, it was hard for you to spot tzuyu in the crowd. the teacher didn't even know how to get you all to fit in the crammed area, complaining about how the walk to the library and art was too far from here.

you feel a slap on your back, surprising you, making you turn around.

you are greeted by one of the few male friends you have, jeongin.

"hey, buddy," he greets, pulling you into a side hug. you can't help but mirror they smile on braces boy's teeth. "tornado warning, huh? they act as if it will actually happen, look the rain has even stopped."

jeongin was right; the rain had stopped, leaving humid air in its wake.

you shake your head. "the electricity might go out though, don't you see the lightning?"

as if on cue, the entire gym lights up before shutting off completely. there are complaints from students as well as teachers at the sudden lose of light.

"there you go," jeongin chuckles. you can't see him since it's so dark, but you know he is still there because of his arm around you.

you also don't want to move or walk for fear of stepping on someone you can't see. however, jeongin says he has a spot saved for the both of you.

"come on, i'll lead the way," with his arm still around you, he takes you toward his spot.

on that same side of the gym, tzuyu is bent in the correct position. she is getting pains in her neck and knees from the cold, hard floor, though. and she has no idea where dahyun and chaeyoung could be.

they both had classes with her, so they walked down together. but as soon as the lights shut off, it was as if they disappeared.

tzuyu even tried to feel around for them, but she ended up touching some girl's butt:

kinda awkward.

the thing about tzuyu is she gets bored very easily. and after all the work she has been putting into her studies, she gets tired easily too. so after sitting in that position for ten minutes, you can imagine how restless she became.

i should go and find the girls, she thought.

so she stands up, brushes the dirt off her skirt, and starts walking in the direction of all the sound—little did she know that was towards the entrance of the gym, where you were coming out of.

you blame the darkness for what happened next. you also blame your hard chest. you don't know why it is so hard—you never work out, but it is. and it is also apparently hurtful.

after two or three steps forward, you are suddenly met with the hard floor on your butt, as a lighter, but heavy body is on top on you, head on your chest.

immediate groans are heard by the second victim along with jeongin. "kai, bro, where are you, man?" as he walks forward, arms outstretched, feeling for you.

his voice becomes fainter the farther he searches.

upon hearing your name, the person jumps off you, a short gasp leavening their lips.

"k-kai?"

you could recognize that voice anywhere, even after a month's time.

"tzuyu," you breath out before lunging forward and bring the body you believe is tzuyu forward—unintentionally sitting her on your lap, wrapping your arms tight around her.

she squeaks at your tight hold, and shifts a bit on your lap, trying to free herself. once you let go, after the long awaited hug, she gasps for air, dramatically.

"i've missed you so much, tzu," you say, bringing her closer to you.

you imagine she is smiling, but when you hear her groan you are caught of guard.

"w-what's wrong?" you ask, taking her face into your hands, examining it as best as you can through the darkness. "i didn't hurt you, did i?"

she places her soft, small hands on yours, shaking her head. "i'm fine, it's just that i bumped right into your chest, and it was sort of hard."

at this point she is straddling you from all the hugging you had given her. you both don't even notice the position you are in. if you pull her closer to you one more time, she will sure enough be sitting on your area.

"i'm sorry," you lean forward to land a kiss on her forehead, instantly feeling the heat grow on her face, which makes you smile beneath the kiss.

before either of you could pull away, a loud bang is heard as the lights flash on.

all eyes were soon on you and tzuyu as you both came to realize the position you were both sitting in.

if only you could be as smart as dahyun and chaeyoung who had snuck off into the locker room.

i was planning on writing this tomorrow—or later today since it's basically "tomorrow" (3:23am).

i woke up FOUR HOURS EARLIER THAN MY ALARM what the jeff. and my body feels all well rested, but i know i will regret my lack of sleep later.

also jeongin is such a cutie, he is from stray kids if you were wondering. i only added him because i feel like kai needs a male friend.
