warning: super ugly chapter ahead😭and not edited AGAIN. ik im sorry 😔

ON ONE SIDE OF YOU SAT MINA, GLARING DAGGERS. on the other side of you sat who you assumed to be momo. tzuyu had mentioned a fit girl with bangs to be living with her which fit the description of the girl.

sana, the only one you had talked to, was in front of you on the couch, hands on top of her crossed legs. she wasn't glaring at you, but staring as if she could get all the answers from your eyes.

it was likely they could smell your fear, just like dogs.

you silently prayed tzuyu would come back quick.

"so, kai," sana starts, brushing some hair from her face. she was still dressed in her gardening wear, hair tied up in a messy bun, clothes stained with dirt. you wonder whether she knows she may be stinking up the couch. "where are you from."

mina and momo look at you expectantly, you unconsciously gulp at the attention given to you. "uh, japan. kyōtanabe."

there is a moment of silence where all you can hear is the foot steps from upstairs as tzuyu walks around her room. the three girls look at you, expressionless, unmoving. it scares you how in sync they are as they all say in unison.

"oh, my, god!"

"really?"

"i'm from there, too."

for some reason, knowing that these girls had something in common with you other than being associated with tzuyu, made you feel welcomed in their small home.

beside the living room you could see the dining table. the kitchen was blocked off by a wall with an opening, but no door. brown slabs making a combined, z-shaped staircase led to the rooms upstairs. you assumed if belonged to the girls seeing as no other rooms were down here.

the walls were painted—sort of. each side of a wall had a different design. it was as if each side was designated to one of them and they were to decorate it themselves, personalize it.

the house had personality.

and it smelled of memories of going to the beach when you were a child and collecting sand it a water bottle, filling it up with rocks you call sea shells. the uniqueness of the house reminded you of your mom. she would have loved to live like this. she always hated matching furniture to the walls of color of the flooring.

too boring, she said. too ordinary.

"you guys are japanese?" you ask, excited. it wasn't everyday you would meet someone just like you.

momo nodded. "yes, this is amazing! i can't remember the last time i talked to someone who is also from kyōtanabe!"

her bangs covered her eyebrows, but you could tell from the smile on her face that she was ecstatic.

"me either!" you say, turning your body in her direction. "i really only have my family, but my dad is so focused on learning korean customs, we forget about our life back in japan."

sana sighs. "that is what happen when you move somewhere, and there is a new language and culture. even i have forgotten a bit of japanese." she laughs, embarrassed with herself.

the other two girls laugh, agreeing with sana. "maybe we should review, i have some books to study and refresh our memories."

"sounds like a plan," you say.

your glad you've found something in common with the other girls. it's made the atmosphere less awkward, and the time, however short it was, has allowed you to match a face with a name. tzuyu truly never stopped talking about her roommates, she really loves them.
