After we came back from the night walk, my dad was just about to head outside, so we met each other by the door.

,, Where are you heading? " I wondered.

,, With plastic prick for a case, where else? " he said, annoyed.

Then I saw Connor in dad's car as he was waiting for him there.

,, He seems to... Not want to wait any longer until you crack the case. " I said jokingly as he smiled with an amusement.

,, Yeah.... Well, goodnight both of you. " he said as he left.

Once he closed the door, I looked at Markus.

,, When do you want to infiltrate the tower? " I asked with a curious look.

But I couldn't help myself from being distracted from the fact that he kissed me. I was so happy.

He smiled at my excitement: ,, Early in the morning, right after the broadcast. "

I grabbed my phone as I set my alarm to 4 am. Right now it was midnight, so I had 4 hours of sleep left.

,, Guess I'll head to bed now. " I said as I went to my room to get ready for tomorrow.

I took off my pants and as I sat on my bed, I looked at my artificial leg automatically since it was the most different part of me.

Right at the edge of my true and artificial leg, I could see inflammation slowly appearing. I looked at it a lot longer than intended, so when Markus stepped into the room, he looked confused.

,,  What's wrong? " he asked.

I put the blanket on it so he wouldn't notice.

,, Nothing. Just waiting for you to join me. " I said enthusiastically as I patted his spot next to me.

I felt bad for hiding it but I didn't want to bother him with something small like this since he has a lot of burden on his shoulder himself.

I lied down on the bed as Markus slowly slid next to me as well.

,, Goodnight, Markus. " I snuggled to his chest and slowly fell asleep with Markus stroking my hair gently.

,, Goodnight, Aly. " he said softly.

When my alarm rang, I woke up with quite numbing pain in my artificial leg. I knew it was because of the inflammation. When I slowly got up, a sharp pain ran through it.

As Markus was watching me, he noticed my slightly twisted face.

,, Are you okay? " he looked at me worriedly.

,, Yeah, just super sleepy and my eyes are burning so much. " I lied as I smiled at him

Seemed like he believed me which made me feel guilty but I knew that if I would tell him, he wouldn't allow me to come with him and I wanted to help him so much.

Once we've arrived, the pain in my leg was getting only worse, but I tried to hide it as much as possible.

I looked at Markus as we were standing in front of the building.

,, I'll go first so it's not suspicious. " I said as I headed in first.

,, Be careful. " I heard him say behind me.

I smiled as I slowly approached the female receptionist. She looked at me curiously.

,, Hello there. I've been here a few years ago and I wanted to ask if you aren't employing? I've been so interested in working here. " I tried to talk so much to not let the receptionist talk as I saw how Markus went after the android receptionist that was behind her.

,, Well we don't employ, go away. " she said rudely and was about to look Markus' way but I just decided to make it bad for myself.

I dug my skin into the artificial leg which made me scream as I felt the artificial part cut my skin with inflammation. It made my leg bloody.

,, It hurts!! " I screamed painfully as I watched Markus look my way as he was about to enter the hallway.

I hinted at him to go. His expression looked pained as he struggled. I didn't mean to make it hard for him but this was the best way to distract the receptionist.

Meanwhile the receptionist ran from her desk to me as I started to cry painfully.

,, Don't worry, the ambulance is here soon!  " she said sympathetically.

I've waited there with her for one hour when suddenly the TV screen turned on some different channel and I knew it was Markus there. He removed his skin so he wouldn't get recognized.

I was watching his speech that was so beautiful. He was the most fitting leader for his people which made me so proud. I smiled to myself.

When the channel turned off, I realized it was time for him to run away, at that time I was outside, being taken by an ambulance. I looked up at the sky as I saw three parachutes flying in the air. It was surely Markus and his friends. I was happy he was able to escape.

On the way to the hospital, I called dad. He immediately accepted the call.

,, Hi, dad. " I greeted him as I usually did.

,, Hey, princess, what's up? " he said with happiness in his voice.

,, Look, dad, don't freak out, but I am being taken into the hospital. "

,, What!? What the f*ck happened!? " he freaked out, exactly what I didn't want.

,, My bad leg got inflammation and the artificial part cut my skin with it. " I explained.

He sighed in the call.

,, Jesus Christ, Aly. You're the worst in making me worried instantly. "

,, Sorry,  dad. I just wanted to inform you. " I said with a chuckle.

He sounded exhausted.

,, Are you still not home from the case? " I asked.

,, No,  sweetheart. This is one hell of crap we're dealing with. Some android interrupted a live broadcast few minutes ago. " he said angrily.

It made chills run down my spine as I knew that he already knows.

,, Wow, seems like one tough case for you... Make sure you come home and rest,  alright? " I said with gentle voice.

He sighed in agreement.

,, Yeah, I will, in the afternoon. Inform me if something is up and if it's something more serious. Love you. " he said.

,, Love you too. See you, dad. " I hang up on him.

I looked to the distance as we were riding to the hospital. I just hoped Markus would be alright later in the future.
