"No one will like me".

You sighed again looking at the landscape from the balcony.

You were trying to get some attentions at all costs.

Yes, you were a beautiful girl but you wanted guys to notice you... but it was difficult, even more if they were elves.

Living in Rivendell among elves wasn't of any help; even after years they didn't get to be used around you, a human. And what didn't help you a lot was also your crush on Lindir, the right hand of Lord Elrond.

You let out another gasp and stood there, leaning on the railing, and let your eyes wandering around.

"Why you looking so down?".

You turned and saw Arwen approaching you.

"I will never catch someone's attention" you sighed.

Arwen smiled at you. "No, don't say... you are a nice girl".

"You make it easy Arwen, you're an elf maiden among elves... I am merely a human girl. If only I could turn into an elf but it's impossible".

Silence from both of you just until you jolted back; you had an idea!

"Arwen" you called her "teach me how to be like an elf maiden. Help me please".

You begged her almost giving her puppy dog eyes and Arwen couldn't hold back and so it was then you started your "lessons".

You began following her everywhere she went and talked with her about everything you needed.

"An elf maiden is graceful, dresses in an elegant way and above all always has a peaceful character".

Well, it was going to be rather difficult but you wanted to try nonetheless.

You tried and tried but nothing came out.

Those elegant long dresses weren't for you as you, being short, kept stumbling on them making you feeling awkward and looking clumsy at everyone's eyes. Not to talk about sitting in the study with Arwen and learn elvish and study; you just couldn't stay still and didn't like study.. and well not always you had a nice peaceful character as sometimes you got into trouble.

In other words your attempt to act like a perfect elf maiden was failing little by little.

Until when it failed completely because of an accident.

Because of the misfortune you had during an evening with a flying plate that landed on Lindir's robe in front of Elrond and other noble elves you were running away for embarrassment.

Everyone's laughters at those scene kept playing in your head and it made you cry even more until you reached Elrond's garden.

You wanted to be alone after all of that. You sat down on a bench and there you cried.

"I-It's hopeless" you sobbed "I am hopeless.".

"No you are not". You felt a hand on your shoulder and you turned to see who might be... and it was Lindir.

He was seated right next to you and he wiped away your tears.

"You're not hopeless y/n. That was just an accident, you don't have to blame yourself" he comforted you.

"You say this... you make it easy.. but I keep doing 'accidents' and I am clumsy to all of you and you laugh at me, like before; and it hurts me".

Tears came down more on your cheeks.

"I won't even dare to laugh at you y/n".

You felt your heart warming up at those words but tears wouldn't stop streaming down.

He took your hand in his and between you two there was silence until...

"At this point no one here will get interested in me. You are all elves and immortals and I just a human; who would want me? Who would want a clumsy girl like me?".

You didn't resist and collapsed in the arms of the elf.

He hugged you close and began soothing you until when he stopped to take your hands in his and look into your eyes. You both looked in each other's eyes and you felt a shiver going down your spine.

Lindir didn't speak any word. He wept away your last tears streaming down your cheeks and then he got closer to your face and then placed his soft lips on yours.

"I would like a girl like you".

You were amazed.

"Y-You? You like me?". You were confused.

"I love you y/n and I love you being yourself, including also being clumsy" Lindir smiled at you "you don't have to act like an elf because I love you for being you, a beautiful human woman".

"I.. I love you too Lindir" you finally confessed.

And you sealed your love again sharing another romantic kiss under the moonlight and the starry sky.
