A New Strider (Striders x Reader)

Finally it was lunch and you were starving. You follow Feferi along as she led you towards where she hung out with her friends. You were kind of nervous about meeting her friends. What if they hated you? What if they told you that you couldn't hang out with them?

"Hey guys, this is (y/n)," Feferi grins, "they'll be hanging out with us."

Most of the people just shrug and continue their conversation. You and Feferi sit on the grass and she begins to talk to you about one time when Eridan got stuck up a tree.

"Really Fef, do you tell everyone that story?" Eridan's voice interrupts.

"Yes, it's funny," she giggles, "and it's your fault for wearing a cape up a tree."

Eridan huffs and takes a seat beside Feferi.

"Wow, who's this?" a voice asks.

You turn around to see a girl with short, light brown hair and green eyes.

"Um, I'm (y/n)." you introduce yourself.

"I'm Nepeta." She replies and takes a seat beside you.

A guy with shoulder length black hair and blue eyes sits beside her. You just shrug and begin to talk to Nepeta. You have no idea why it's easy for you to talk to her, but she's so bubbly that you kind of just ignore your nerves. You both exchange chum handles so you could talk later. You also managed to Feferi's and Eridan's. you didn't any from the other group members, kind of scared to do so.

This morning you thought that you'd be left alone and have to find a place to hide during lunch. But thanks to your school guide, you were sitting with a bunch of other people. Usually you'd hate that, but by the looks of things, friends of Feferi's didn't get bullied, and that's always a plus. But even if that wasn't the case, you're sure that you still would have sat with Feferi.

"So, (y/n), this is Equius." Nepeta speaks, snapping you back into reality.

You look over to see the black haired boy from before looking at you.

"Oh, nice to meet you Equius." You nod.

"You too." Equius seemed to be sweaty profusely, slightly worrying you.

"Don't mind him; he's just a bit awkward." Nepeta giggles.

You hum and complement Nepeta's cat hat.

"Oh, thanks, I've worn this hat for so long!"

You smile as you continue to chat along with Nepeta, almost forgetting about the time. But when the bell rings you look up, kind of sad that lunch had finished.

"Okay (y/n), next is mathematics." Feferi smiles, helping you to your feet.

You say goodbye to Nepeta before going after Feferi, who was already walking off. You noticed the Eridan was following you both still. Man, he must really like Feferi.

This classroom was much closer than the last so it takes less time to arrive. This time the three of you were sitting at the back of the class, probably to avoid the teacher, whoever that may be.

You definitely understand why you were sitting at the back when you notice the teacher walk in. It was your home room teacher. Since you didn't pay attention earlier, you still have no idea what her name was.

"Alright class, today we will be learning about the Pythagorean Theorem."

You and the entire class groan in unison.

After an agonising last lesson, you're finally on your way out of the building. You were still walking with Feferi, since she insisted to wait with you until you found your brothers. Of course Eridan was also tagging along. Despite his grumpy look, he could be alright. He liked Harry Potter, so he seemed like quite a nerd.

You arrive at the front of the school to see that neither of your brothers was there. You had a feeling this would happen.

"We can wait for a few minutes, and if they don't come I can drop you off." Feferi offers.

"That's very kind of you," you smile, "I'd appreciate it."

So you, Feferi and Eridan stand out the front of the school for about 10 minutes, and neither Dirk nor Dave appeared.

"Okay, I don't think they're coming." You frown.

"That's alright, let's go." Feferi comforts and the three of you make your way to her car.

When Feferi say she'd drive you home, she actually meant her driver would drive her home. So now you were sitting in the back of an expensive, fancy car. Now it made sense as to why everyone let Feferi through the hallways so easily, she was rich.

"Is this your apartment building?" Feferi asks.

You glance out of the window, "yep."

"Thank you for the ride," you smile, "I'll see you tomorrow."

Eridan and Feferi say their goodbyes and you hop out. You pull your bag onto your back and make your way up to your apartment. Since you didn't have a key, you just knock on the door. You wait for a moment before it swings open, revealing Dirk.

"Oh shit, hey (y/n)."

"Hi." You say flatly and walk inside.

"Sorry about not waiting for you, I kind of forgot."

"And I'm guessing Dave forgot too," you sigh, "it's fine, Feferi gave me a ride."

You didn't really want to come off as rude, but you were kind of peeved.

"I'll be in my room."

With that you walk into your room and shut the door behind you.
