"I don't want to talk about it later," Theo spat, tightening his grip. "I want to talk now! What were you doing last night? Screwing that cheating pig?"
Stiles could see Derek from the corner of his eye. He was starting to get uneasy and looked like he was about to intervene. That was the last thing Stiles needed right now. "I was not screwing him," Stiles promised, trying not to cry. "Theo, you're hurting me, please let go," he pleaded.
"No," Theo growled, pulling him towards his car. "Get in. I'm taking you home."
"Stop it!" Stiles yelled, pulling the opposite way, but he wasn't as strong as Theo. "Please, let me go!" He knew at that point, there was no stopping the inevitable. Derek was already running towards them, and before Stiles could yell at him to stop, he was throwing a punch. Theo's grip on Stiles' arm fell away as he staggered backwards, holding his jaw. "Derek, that's enough," Stiles tried, but they both ignored him. Theo tackled Derek to the ground and Stiles knew there was no intervening. He took a step back and pulled out his phone to dial his dad's number.
"Stiles, I'm on patrol, I can't be taking personal phone calls," his dad answered.
"Yeah, well Derek and Theo are ripping each others faces off in the school parking lot, so if you or any other deputy is near, I need some help," he said frantically. His dad didn't even reply before hanging up the phone. Stiles shoved it back in his pocket and watched, wincing every time someone got a punch in. Within seconds, he heard the sirens on his dad's car. It took a couple minutes for him to pull in, but the fighting didn't stop when he did. The sheriff had to physically pry the two of them apart. Stiles ran to Derek out of instinct to make sure he was okay while his dad handcuffed Theo and took him to the car. "Dad, you're not taking them in together, are you? They might kill each other."
The sheriff rolled his eyes. "No, I'm not an idiot. Now let the boy go. I have to do my job." He shooed Stiles off to the side and helped Derek to his feet. "Sorry about this, son. It's part of it."
"I know," Derek mumbled. "I'm really sorry about this, sheriff."
"Derek was protecting me," Stiles added, because he felt like it was needed, especially because his dad didn't know about what happened to Derek. He still thought Derek was a cheater. "Theo grabbed my arm."
The sheriff handed Derek over to Deputy Parrish and then pulled Stiles to the side, examining his arm. The bruises were already forming. "Theo did this?" he asked, as if he didn't believe it. Stiles didn't hold it against him. Theo had never behaved like this before. Stiles nodded to answer his dad's question and then stared at his feet. "Why didn't you tell me Derek was here?"
Stiles shrugged. "He came to see me last night. We talked, that's all. I-- I have to break up with Theo."
"Yeah," Sheriff said sternly, pointing to his bruised arm again. "You do have to break up with him, and then stay far away from him. He obviously has anger issues and boys like that don't get better with time." He started to walk away, having said all he had to say.
"Dad, can I come to the station to see Derek?" he asked, nervously.
