"You seem a lot better now. Are you feeling better? You're not gonna throw up again are you? Because our toilet sorta broke, we don't have anything for you to vomit in except for a trash bag." Issei asks as he continues to touch my forehead. I try to push his hand away, but he won't stop. I hear a small giggle come out of his mouth. Now I know he's just being a tease like he always is.
"Hands off or I'll hurt you." I said. He immediately stops what he's doing and goes back to coking more ramen. Wimp. "And yes, I am feeling a lot more better now. And you done need to worry about me throwing up." I said. He smiles at me and past my head.
"Did I fell you, you're leaving work early?" Issei says. I did not know about this.
"No I did not. And why am I leaving early??" I ask.
"It's raining again today. And I'm not risking you getting sick again." He says.
"But I brought a jacket and an umbrella with me. I think I'll be alright, Issei. Plus, I don't live that far from here. I doubt I'll get sick." I said, poring more water into a glass for someone.
"No one ever knows what's wrong with you. Didn't it rain the other day and all you had with you was an umbrella? Not even a jacket?" He asks.
"Who told you that?" I ask.
"Daichi came over right after. He got hungry, and told me what happened. I need to watch out for you more." He said.
"Why don't you pay more attention to Riku? You never know what up with her. I know I don't." I said.
"But Riku's a strong girl. She knows how to take care of herself. And I like that about her. She eats a lot. She's cute. She has a cute laugh that's just music to my ears. She-"
"Has I crush on you but doesn't know it and won't admit it. Just like you." I finish for him. He glares at me and pushes me lightly.
"I don't like Riku. That's final."
"And what do you mean about Riku being a strong girl? Are you calling me weak?" I ask.
"Yes." He says, without hesitation. I gasp. How rude.
"Riku is weak to you know. She complains everyday about her legs not working and tells me to run to the store and get her a bag of chips. She won't get up from the couch to make popcorn because her fingers hurt when she presses the buttons on the microwave. So she makes me make it for her." I tell him.
He lets out a small giggle. "That's not weak, that's lazy. But she could be strong. You're not. Look at these arms." He says, taking ahold of my arm. He grabs me sleeve and pulls it up. "Look at this. I see no muscle. There is no muscle. You can't even open a pickle jar. That's how weak you are." He says, letting go of my arm. I roll my sleeve back down.
"But no one can open a pickle jar. No one! Not even Riku can." I said.
"Oh please. Pickle jars are easy to open. You're just a weak little kitten." He says, patting my head. I hate him.
We continue to take order for the rest of the day. Until it was time for me to leave. I grab my jacket and say goodbye to Issei. As I close the door behind me, I turn back around only to numb into someone. "Sorry." I said.
"Hi Kumi. How are you doing?" Daichi asks. Why do I always bump into him at the most random times? I don't think this is normal.
"Oh, hi Daichi. I'm fine. What about you?" I ask.
"I'm good. I was just about to head home. But how about I walk you home instead? Is that alright with you?" He asks.
"It's not like I have a choice anymore, do I?"
"No, not really. Like always, I probably would've just walked you home either way. Even if you said "no" to me." He said.
"And there's no way of me getting around it. But you always walk me home now. Wouldn't it be better if you just went straight home instead of walking me? Aren't your parents worried about you coming home so late?" I ask, as we begin to walk.
"They're always worried about me. But they trust me. They know I wouldn't do anything stupid or dumb. It's not like I'm going out to drink or anything. I'm just getting school stuff finished, eating, then I walk you home." He said.
"You're to nice Daichi." I tell him.
"I'm alright with that. Now, it's about to rain. How about we walk a bit faster?" He says. I nod my head. We walk back to my place in a faster speed. But we continue to talk the rest of the way home.
Once we get there I say goodbye and walk into the apartment. I thought I would find Riku on the couch. Probably eating ramen or chips. Maybe eating a whole buffet. Nope. She wasn't there. I checked her room. Not there either. I checked the whole place. No where to be found. I give up and go to my room and finish some of my school work.
I hear the door to the apartment opening. I get up from my bed and run into the living room. I find Riku smiling and giggling at herself. She looked different. Her hair was done nicely. She had lite makeup on. And she wore a really cute outfit. A pink skirt. That was mine!! A white top, also mine. And then a jean jacket. She never wears these sorta thing.
She leans against the door and slide down. I walk over to her and sit down next to her. "Anything you wanna tell me?" I ask.
She was still smiling. She brings her legs up and wraps her arms around them. "I went on a date." She says.
I gasp. "What!? You went on a date!? With who!? Tell me everything. What's his name? How old is he? Does he go to our school?" I ask.
"His name is Koichi. He's 19. Yes he goes to our school. And he's really cute, funny, and super sweat. We met in one of our classes. He asked me to borrow some of my notes and a pencil. Then for like the next few weeks, we started talking. Then he asked me out on a date yesterday. I said yes, obviously. And we had the best time ever." She says.
"What did you guys do?" I ask.
"He took me to a carnival. We had lots of fun. We had good food. We went on all the rides. Played games. Then we went out to have some coffee and then he walked me home. Then he kissed me!" She shouts the last part.
"He kisses you!?" I shout. She nods her head happily.
"Wow. I can't believe this. Riku has a boyfriend." I sing, slapping her arm.
"I don't know if I'll be able to go to sleep now. I'm so wide awake after all that." She says.
"Just try and go to bed." I tell her. She gets up from the floor and walks to her room. "And one more thing, you owe me money." I tell her.
"What!? Why!?" She asks.
"Thats my skirt and my top. I never let you use those. Pay me." I said, holding my hand out. She glares at me then hands me the money that was in her bag. Yay, money.
"Goodnight Riku." I said.
"Yeah yeah, goodnight." She said, closing the door behind her.
